The D-backs Nike Major League Baseball (MLB) RBI program, administered by MLB's Baseball & Softball Development Department, is designed to provide youth in under served communities opportunities to play baseball and softball. Over the past two seasons, we've documented the team and how the program has evolved, bringing talented young athletes from around Phoenix together to hone in on their skills, play together on professional fields, and set up them up for future successes both on and off the field. Led by our D-backs Baseball Academy, we've had the pleasure of seeing these young athletes grow tremendously in more than just athleticism and skill, and we are so proud of all they have accomplished.

Congratulations are in order for Ken Kendrick, our teams managing general partner! He will be one of twelve outstanding individuals to receive the 2025 Horatio Alger Award. For the past 78 years, the Horatio Alger Award has been presented each year to distinguished individuals who have triumphed over considerable adversity and who have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to higher education and philanthropy in their communities and beyond. “I am deeply honored to become a Member of the Horatio Alger Association, whose mission to support and empower young people on their journeys to success mirrors my own belief in the importance of giving deserving people a chance,” said Mr. Kendrick. “With the right assistance and encouragement, anything is possible for anyone. I look forward to joining this extremely accomplished group of Members to help guide the next generation as they strive to achieve their dreams.”

We are proud to announce that Torey Lovullo, our talented manager, will be honored with the 2025 National Italian American Foundation Honoree Award. As the longest-tenured and winningest manager in Diamondbacks history, Torey has led us since 2017, shaping the team with his leadership, strategy, and passion for the game. In his first season, he took the D-backs to the National League Wild Card game, earning National League Manager of the Year. In 2023, under his guidance, we secured our second National League pennant and made our first World Series appearance in 22 years, marking a historic moment for our franchise. A proud Italian-American, Torey’s contributions to Major League Baseball (MLB) go beyond just his impressive managerial record. His dedication to the sport and leadership have made a lasting impact on our team and the game itself.
