The first Waste Heat Day has just ended for our Italian team, bringing together around fifty industrial players from the food & beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical sectors and original equipment manufacturers. Together, we explored the Pinch methodology, direct heat recovery, and the use of high-temperature heat pumps—a solution that can reduce the energy consumption from a factory up to 70%. A powerful solution to decarbonize industrial heat while reducing risks link to gas price volatility. A big thank you to our partners, TEKNA PARMA S.R.L., and to Fabio Minchio—expert in energy efficiency, PhD, and academic in energy engineering. We are committed to driving this topic forward, as waste heat recovery will be at the heart of Europe’s decarbonization, energy security, and industrial competitiveness. At Armstrong, we are now looking to expand the Waste Heat Days initiative across Europe, as well as in the US and India. If you’d like to be part of the movement, get in touch!

We’re thrilled to celebrate Francisco Reis’s contribution to the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics! His recently published article presents a local non-linear wall-slip boundary scheme for the Lattice Boltzmann method, enhancing the modeling of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids with improved accuracy and viscosity-independent errors. A huge shoutout to Francisco for his dedication, as well as to Gonçalo Silva and Viriato Semião for their invaluable support! Download the full article here: https://bit.ly/4hhiR5b
🌟 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀!🌟 I am immensely proud to announce that my article is now available for the wider scientific community. This has been a colossal effort, and I am delighted to have contributed to advancing the field of 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗹𝘂𝗶𝗱 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀. In this work, a 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗽 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝘁𝘇𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 was devised to better model the behavior of both 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 (𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻) and 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 (𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻) 𝗿𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗶𝗱𝘀. It is my hope that this approach will inspire new insights and applications in the study of complex fluid dynamics. A heartfelt thank you to Gonçalo Silva and Viriato Semião for their guidance, expertise, and invaluable support throughout this journey. Your mentorship made this achievement possible. I look forward to engaging with fellow researchers, sharing ideas, and contributing to further advancements in this fascinating field! 🚀 https://lnkd.in/gSpjxfVW #Research #ComputationalFluidDynamics #CFD #NonLinearRheology #NewtonianFluids #NonNewtonianFluids #LatticeBoltzmannMethod #Collaboration
