Empower Women - Innovate the Workforce - Restoring Communities
About us
Arouet Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Arizona nonprofit corporation whose mission is to provide education assistance, workforce development and job opportunities to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women who are sincere about working hard to change their livelihood. It all began inside Perryville Prison in Goodyear, Arizona in 2004. Televerde, a Department of Corrections workforce development partner, began a reentry program called T.O.P.S. (Transforming our Possibilities) to help prepare incarcerated women for life after prison, implementing programs that emphasize education, job skills, and post-release work opportunities, without increasing the burden on government. Then in 2011, Arouet Foundation was formed to take over these activities to ensure we were reaching a broader group of women. Arouet Foundation has proven that recidivism can be substantially reduced by more than 75%, with programs that emphasize education, job skills, and post-release work opportunities. Arouet Foundation has a goal of putting more people to work, and thereby reducing the increasing taxes we all share.

We are so proud of Brandy for representing the Neighborhood Builders emerging leaders on this panel for Bank of America! Their partnership has played such an important role in Arouet and Brandy's growth and we could not be more excited to continue that partnership into 2025 and beyond.
I had the incredible opportunity to participate as a panelist at the Bank of America Neighborhood Builders® 20th Anniversary Celebration. As a 2022 Emerging Leader, reflecting on how this transformational program has shaped my personal journey and the Arouet Foundation mission to create opportunities for justice-impacted women was inspiring. Hearing from fellow leaders and celebrating the 2024 Neighborhood Builders® recipients reminded me of the powerful impact unrestricted funding and leadership development have on our community. I’m so grateful to be part of this incredible legacy of change! Congratulations to the Boys & Girls Club of the Valley and Child Crisis Arizona for being selected as the 2024 Neighborhood Builders awardees. Special thanks and congrats to Bank of America-here’s to 20 years of empowering problem-solvers and building brighter futures! #BofANeighborhoodBuilders #CommunityImpact #20YearsOfChange #Arouet

Yesterday, Arouet teamed up with our friends at JPMorganChase to put together nearly 200 backpacks for women transitioning back home from Perryville! These backpacks are more than just supplies—they’re a fresh start. By easing some of the financial stress that comes with coming home, we’re helping these women focus on what’s most important: reconnecting with family, finding housing, and getting back into the workforce. Big thanks to our amazing board member, Heather McHone, for your dedication to supporting women and making a difference in our community. We couldn’t do it without you!
