My 4-step system for strategic rest: 𝟭) 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁. Figure out what rest looks like for you. ↳ Is it cooking? ↳ Is it taking a nap? ↳ Is it going on a walk? ↳ Is it watching a show? ↳ Is it doing something creative? ↳ Is it spending time with friends? Once you know what rest is for you, it's easier to fit it into your schedule. 𝟮) 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘁. Treat rest like an appointment. Put it on your calendar and commit to it. Otherwise, you'll keep working until you burn out. 𝟯) 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁. If you're going to rest, then rest. Don't check emails, scroll social media, or do work-related tasks. Disconnect and recharge. You'll come back to work more productive after taking a real break. 𝟰) 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿. Use your rest as a time to recharge. Don't guilt yourself for taking time off. This is an opportunity to come back even stronger and more productive. Recharge your batteries, and then come back ready to crush your goals. Taking a break isn't giving up. It's strategic rest that gives you laser focus and energy to accomplish even more. ------------------------------------------------- Follow me Dan Murray-Serter 🧠 for more on habits and leadership. ♻️ Repost this if you think it can help someone in your network! 🖐️ P.S Join my newsletter The Science Of Success where I break down stories and studies of success to teach you how to turn it from probability to predictability here: https://lnkd.in/ecuRJtrr

I can't stress this enough if you're in your 20s and 30s. For the next 6 months, become addicted to these 7 habits, and you'll be unrecognizable by 2025. (thank-you Roberto Ferraro for these illustrations) 7 simple yet transformative lessons that will make you smarter: 1. The Biggest Failure is Never Trying ↳ Failure is a part of the learning process. Embrace challenges as opportunities to learn. ↳ The key is to embrace it as an opportunity to grow. 2. The Power of Walking ↳ According to a study by Stanford University, walking increases creative thinking by an average of 60%. ↳ Next time you feel stuck, take a 15-minute walk. 3. Learn from Your Mistakes ↳ Reframe mistakes as opportunities for learning and growth. ↳ We all make mistakes; that's part of life. It's ok. 4. Real Leaders Empower Others ↳ Being a leader isn't just about telling people what to do; it's about helping others grow and become leaders themselves. ↳ Being a leader means creating an environment where others can thrive. 5. The Recipe for Success ↳ Collaborating with talented people will inspire you to reach higher. ↳ When you work with great people, you push each other to improve. 6. Micromangers Hurt Productivity ↳ Having someone constantly looking over your shoulder will limit your productivity. ↳ Micromanagement restricts motivation. 7. The Power of Doing ↳ Your thoughts shape your words, influencing your actions and becoming habits. ↳ A positive mindset makes you feel more motivated and confident to take action.
