Minimal, organic, and refined—Artwork Archive's Featured Artist Yasha Butler creates artwork that invites moments of calm and helps us connect more deeply with ourselves. Based between Ireland and Türkiye, Yasha Butler crafts ceramic pieces inspired by nature, antiquity, and the beauty found in life's imperfections. Yasha is driven by a fascination with how our surroundings shape our emotions, and distills the elements that ground her into serene ceramic forms. "Certain environments can overwhelm us, while others offer tranquility," she reflects. Her artwork is a response to this duality, offering a space of stillness and connection in our busy world. Each ceramic object she creates is an invitation to pause, reflect, and to rediscover the essence of wholeness in ourselves and our surroundings. "I think of myself as a wanderer-painter. I lean in to my intuition in each piece—to let each painting evolve in its unique way," says Artwork Archive's Featured Artist, Priya Vadhyar In her current work, Priya explores the manifestation of what philosopher Loren Eiseley calls one's "interior geography," and the self's relationship with the sum of things. Her paintings are a testament to spontaneity and intuition, combining architectural forms, drips, washes, and fresh brushwork to create deeply layered pieces that invite you to wander alongside her. Each piece is a dialogue between structure and freedom, the planned and the unplanned, as Priya navigates the delicate interplay between the self and the world beyond. Describing her approach as a philosophy of wandering, Priya’s paintings capture moments of discovery—"using spontaneous action and intuition as a way of coming upon a scene rather than planning a destination." Priya Vadhyar's work is a testament to the belief that art can reveal parts of ourselves we didn't know existed. Stay tuned this week as we dive deeper into Priya's process, hear what she wishes she knew before becoming a professional artist, and discover how Artwork Archive helps her navigate her art career. @priyavadhyar Check out Priya's full portfolio on the front of our Discovery page all week. Artwork Archive's Featured Artist Monique Crépault (aka: MŌ), invites viewers to reconsider their perspectives through her bold, contemporary figurative style. Based in Montreal, Quebec, MŌ draws on her background in visual arts and scenography to create paintings where theatricality takes center stage. The nude is the cornerstone of her art, used “like a director uses actors” to craft atmospheres and tell open-ended stories. Her paintings often surprise viewers, especially those featuring naked men, a subject rarely explored by women in art history. As MŌ explains, “Artists have always been fascinated by the human body, but male painters have long painted women without the reverse being true.” Her work offers a window into new perspectives and unexplored possibilities, challenging the traditional gaze and embracing a balance of color, light, and form. Through mirrors, frames, and windows, her theatrical compositions reflect parallel worlds, coexistence, and infinite imagination. Stay tuned later this week to hear more insights from MŌ and visit the front of our Discovery page to explore her full portfolio! @monique.crepault Follow us @artworkarchive to discover more artists and gain helpful insights and resources for your art career https://buff.ly/3J5XAvK

Jilli describes her work as a journey within the Self—a way of externalizing the internal. Her pieces are visual abstractions of the push and pull within, where bold, vibrant gestures meet quiet, meditative marks. Through shifts in perspective, colors are pitted against one another, seeking harmony. Her markings are meditations on thought, memory, and daydreaming, expressed with a playful energy that spills into large formats. Working with acrylics and oils and experimenting with inks and charcoal, Jilli’s art is constantly evolving—balancing curiosity with reflection, dynamic boldness with calm, quiet dispositions. Artwork Archive's Featured Artist, Jen E. Sanders, dives into the intersections of motherhood, identity, and the quietly absurd moments of family life through her vibrant oil and acrylic paintings. “I make representational, figurative paintings—depictions of my own experience of motherhood / mortality, neurodivergence, and the painfully ridiculous,” she shares, capturing life’s humor and gravity in her bold color choices and storytelling. Her scenes reveal the raw beauty and chaos of family, where a sunset-colored canvas meets a trash bin filled with Barbies, and a dog bounds into the frame. Jen's work speaks to the domestic landscapes of motherhood and the strange magic of ordinary moments. “Family life,” she reflects, “is lovely, funny, and horrifying,” and her art invites us into this complexity, giving viewers a window into everyday situations that somehow hold space for the extraordinary. Stay tuned this week as Jen shares more about her creative process, insights for fellow artists, and how Artwork Archive has become an integral part of her art practice. @j.e.sanders.art Follow us @artworkarchive to discover more artists, gain insights into how to run your art career, and access free resources for artists See full portfolio: https://buff.ly/3J5XAvK
