Today is the final day of our midyear campaign. We give thanks to everyone who has already donated, bringing us to 70% of our goal of $10,000. We have until midnight tonight to reach that goal. Will you help us get there? Why ARTZ Philadelphia? Why now? The freedom to be ourselves — whoever we are in this moment; to express ourselves in whatever way feels most comfortable, without fear of judgment or stigma; to find what brings us joy; and to connect with each other however we can. These are pre-conditions for quality of life that most of us desire, regardless of a dementia diagnosis… Our community members tell us their yearnings for these freedoms bring them to ARTZ Philadelphia. On July 1st, we started our twelfth year of supporting people living with dementia and their care partners through small group programs in which they build relationships with each other, rediscover their strengths and talents, and contribute to each others' well-being through shared experiences around the arts. Visual art. Music. Movement. Horticulture. If it brings joy to our community members, we do it. We are nearing the end of our midyear campaign, "BECAUSE OF ARTZ, I am free to...," featuring the experiences and words of our community members, some living with dementia, some loving people living with dementia. As you all know, this is a tough time to be fundraising with all that is pulling at people's heartstrings, fears, and resources worldwide. And yet, this is the most critical of times to ensure that people living with dementia are not forgotten, that their quality of life is not dismissed as dispensable.
