Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Our Irving, TX distribution center received a visit from a very special guest this week. 🦃 Warehouse Supervisior D'Marcus Miles helped get everyone in the spirit by rocking this suit. (Don't worry, no costumed turkeys were roasted.) 😄 We hope everyone in the US arrives safely to their destinations tomorrow and enjoys the day!

The temperatures outside are dropping as we head into winter, but construction work still happens. 🌨️ 🏗️ Here's some tips on precautions to take to keep everyone on the job site safe during these chilly months: + Layer Clothing for Warmth: Workers should wear multiple layers of clothing to trap heat and stay dry. Moisture-wicking base layers, insulated mid-layers, and waterproof outer layers help prevent hypothermia and frostbite. Ensure workers wear insulated gloves, hats, and boots to protect extremities from freezing temperatures. + Monitor Weather Conditions: Continuously monitor weather forecasts for extreme conditions such as blizzards, strong winds, or freezing rain. Workers should be informed about any changes, and work schedules may need to be adjusted to avoid the most hazardous weather. + Take Frequent Breaks: Schedule regular breaks in a heated shelter or vehicle to allow the team to warm up and rest. Prolonged exposure to cold can lead to fatigue, increasing the risk of accidents. Encourage hydration and proper nutrition to help maintain energy levels. + Use Proper Equipment and Tools: Ensure all construction equipment is winter-ready, with antifreeze in machinery and tools to prevent freezing. Test all equipment before use to avoid malfunctions. Provide workers with tools designed for use in cold environments, such as non-slip footwear and cold-resistant gloves. + Address Slippery Surfaces: Prevent slips and falls by keeping pathways, work areas, and equipment surfaces clear of ice and snow. Use de-icing agents or sand to improve traction. Ensure that scaffolding, ladders, and walkways are sturdy and well-maintained in winter conditions. By implementing these tips, construction sites can reduce the risk of cold-related injuries. Stay safe this winter!
