Over 119 athletes from more than 35 schools—spanning elementary, middle school, high school, college, and adult divisions—gathered recently at West Anchorage High School for its inaugural NYO (Native Youth Olympics) invitational. The event marked the start of two days of traditional Native games, with over 100 athletes from Anchorage, Kenai, and Seward participating.
