To predstavlja najcelovitejši obstoječ seznam slovenskih organizacij v ZDA in Kanadi! 💙💚 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐳𝐚𝐤𝐥𝐣𝐮𝐜̌𝐧𝐨 𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐜̌𝐢𝐥𝐨: https://shorturl.at/DnyG8 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑗𝑒𝑘𝑡 𝑠̌𝑡. 🌟 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐅 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐚 𝐙̌𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐢𝐤 🌟 As we enter a new year, let’s fuel our creativity and ambition with insights from ASEF mentor and cofounder, Dr. Marinka Zitnik. A biomedical researcher at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Žitnik combines coffee with collaboration to spark groundbreaking discoveries! ☕✨ 💡 Ready to be inspired and motivated? Read the full article to discover her approach to creativity, her groundbreaking work, and her thoughts on the future of AI in medicine. ✨ Let 2025 be the year we all embrace interdisciplinary collaboration and bold ideas to make a difference!
How does biomedical researcher Marinka Zitnik stay creative? Hint: it involves coffee. It also involves a concerted effort to spark collaboration between scientists from different disciplines. Zitnik encourages her research group at HMS to explore topics outside of their immediate areas of expertise. “The potential for groundbreaking discoveries and novel approaches is greatest at the borders where one field meets another,” she says. Zitnik herself works at the interface of two fields: machine learning and biomedicine. She’s developing AI models that could identify new treatments for diseases — particularly those that have very few or no treatments. ✨ 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐄 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐒𝐀! On December 5, ASEF, in collaboration with the Student Organization of the Biotechnical Faculty (ŠOBF), hosted another inspiring session in our ASEF Young Minds lecture series. Vesna Jurjevič, ASEF Fellow 2024 and master’s student in Molecular and Functional Biology, captivated the audience with her talk on the role of MAGE proteins in aggressive cancers like glioblastoma and pancreatic cancer. 🧪 Vesna shared insights from her research, conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Barbara Breznik, and her enriching two-month visit to Prof. Dr. Klementina Fon Tacer’s lab at TTU SVM in Texas. Beyond the lab, she explored cultural and natural gems like Palo Duro Canyon, Colorado Springs, and NASA Center with fellow ASEF fellow Jerneja Koren, who also conducted her research visit under Prof. Dr. Fon Tacer. Events like this highlight the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the global opportunities ASEF offers to young researchers. 💡 Dive deeper into Vesna’s story and the impact of this event here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dBe9bAjB
