National Caregivers Day gives each of us the opportunity to recognize the many people among us who provide care for others. Some are professionals, and others are family members or friends. What they all have in common is their compassion and commitment, which provide strength and comfort to those in their care. Through their support, caregivers profoundly impact lives. At #AskBio, we appreciate the integral role of caregiving and the hope that this work brings to patients and families. Inspired by this, we are proud to stand alongside caregivers and patients with even deeper hope and determination to deliver transformative therapies designed to improve outcomes for those living with some of the world’s most devastating diseases. #NationalCaregiversDay #GeneTherapy

All of us at #AskBio are proud to have done our part in helping to make Bayer the first company to be granted RMAT designation in both gene and cell therapy. We are excited to have the opportunity to advance our AB-1005 Parkinson’s gene therapy program and to bring hope to people living with this terrible disease. #TeamBayer Bayer | Pharmaceuticals
Double punch against Parkinson’s So proud of Gustavo Pesquin and the entire team at Asklepios BioPharmaceutical, Inc. (AskBio) for receiving RMAT designation for their investigational gene therapy for #Parkinson’s disease. This now makes Bayer the first company to be granted the FDA’s Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy designation both in gene therapy with AskBio and cell therapy with BlueRock Therapeutics. Today’s news is an exciting day for Bayer | Pharmaceuticals, but more importantly, it's another important step forward for patients with Parkinson’s disease and their families.

#AskBio is excited to announce today with Bayer that our investigational gene therapy AB-1005 for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease (PD) has been granted Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy (RMAT) designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). RMAT designation is designed to help expedite the development of promising investigational therapies so they can potentially benefit patients in areas of unmet medical need. AB-1005, a glial cell-line derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) gene therapy, is intended to slow disease progression and improve motor outcomes in patients with PD. The prevalence of Parkinson's has doubled over the past 25 years. Currently, more than 10 million people worldwide are estimated to be living with the disease, which makes it the second most prevalent neurodegenerative disease and the most frequent movement disorder. At present there is no cure, and there are no disease-modifying treatment options available, so new therapies are needed. #ParkinsonsDisease #TeamBayer For Medical Media – Read our press release here: https://lnkd.in/gYVZ3dKn Adrian Kells, Albana Alili Dalipi, Kenneth Miller, Steven Elmes, Krystof Bankiewicz, Rob Wiley, Amber Van Laar, Matthias Luz, Bayer | Pharmaceuticals

❤️ #AskBio colleagues joined the American Heart Association's National Wear Red Day® on February 7 to raise awareness of the impact of cardiovascular disease on women. In fact, this year, our recognition of the day kicked off a little early, when senior leaders joined Bayer CEO Bill Anderson in wearing red at a Bayer US #HeartMonth event! Throughout February, we're finding ways to support initiatives that improve cardiovascular health and increase awareness of the fact that heart disease remains the world's leading cause of death. A simple gesture like wearing red can spark conversations and remind us all to prioritize our well-being. #WearRedDay Gustavo Pesquin; Anand Mirchandani; Tracy Dowling; Pooja Merchant; Deb Cole; Farah CHALI; Nisha Chhabria MD, FAAN; Jenny Siferd, SPHR; Heather Caro, CA-AM; Vosha A.; Amanda Carson; Jason Krentz; Melissa Murrell; Meg Heim; Leigh Ervin; Maria C. As #HeartMonth progresses and we move toward the end of #HeartFailureAwarenessWeek, we're reminded that cardiovascular diseases and heart failure remain the leading cause of death globally, highlighting the tremendous unmet need for new treatment options. This year, we are joining Heart Failure Society of America in helping to raise awareness of the need to remain focused on #HeartFailure by sharing some facts we think everyone should know. This week provides each of us with an opportunity to better understand heart failure and learn more about related risk factors, prevention methods, and treatments. Visiting hfsa.org is a great place to start.

Globally, more than 64 million people are living with heart failure. Despite significant advances in therapy and prevention, mortality and morbidity remain high and quality of life is often poor for patients. #AskBio is dedicated to harnessing the potential of gene therapy to provide improved treatment options for congestive heart failure worldwide. A critical component of this work is the advancement of our Phase 2 GenePHIT clinical trial in the US and now in Europe. To kick off our celebration of Black History Month at #AskBio, we are recognizing and honoring the contributions of several iconic Black scientists, in alignment with ASALH's (Association for the Study of African American Life and History) Black History Month theme: “African Americans in Labor.” If the few we share excite you as much as they do us, be sure to learn more about each of them and the many other Black scientific innovators who have and are doing amazing work across fields. Next up for us will be several engaging and educational events over the coming weeks, which are being arranged by our African American (AA) Employee Resource Group (ERG). These will cover a variety of topics and include a trivia event, a panel discussion highlighting what it's like to be an AA ERG member, and an event focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the US and how these are central to AskBio's culture. Special thanks to our AA ERG for their help in creating moments for us to learn, have a little fun, and come closer together. This year's Black History Month celebration is another example of our team prioritizing the important work of building an environment that embraces every employee and reflects our diverse workforce. These efforts help drive our #Culture, and our culture helps us deliver the results that patients around the world are counting on us to provide. #BlackHistoryMonth2025 Julius C. As a company committed to contributing directly to making a difference for those with heart disease, through our work in congestive heart failure (CHF) and beyond, #HeartMonth is a special time each year for us at #AskBio. Our work is just one way we hope to make a meaningful impact. Another is helping our colleagues understand more about cardiovascular disease on a personal level, what we can do to help prevent it, and how to act in the event of a heart-related emergency. Throughout February, our Employee Engagement Committee has arranged a number of activities for colleagues to engage with and hear from each other, share their experiences, and access resources that will help each of us make a meaningful impact that can continue long past February.

Happy Year of the Snake! Today we’re excited to mark the start of #LunarNewYear, one of the most important cultural events for millions around the world. With the help of #AskBio’s Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Employee Resource Group (ERG), we’ll be celebrating the holiday next week over lunch in our offices in the US and Europe. By helping us come closer together during this significant time of year, our AAPI ERG is highlighting one part of what makes our company so special: We prioritize building an environment that embraces every employee and reflects our diverse workforce. By creating moments to connect and recognize the big and small things we value, we encourage curiosity, create opportunities for individual growth, and strengthen our teams. These fundamentals are at the heart of our success. #Leadership Krishen Somers, Thao Tran, Sabrina Lai, Melissa Murrell, Tracy Dowling, Lesley Flood
