A speech that reminds us of what's at stake and demands Action, Accountability, and Ambition, exactly what the world needs right now. With a stark revelation: Florida has more solar panels than the entire continent of Africa. For decades, Al Gore has sounded the alarm, championed bold solutions, and inspired millions. #Road2COP29 🌍 As delegates, advocates, and activists from across Africa make their way to Baku for COP29, we present this short documentary as a reminder of what’s truly at stake. Africa is in the eye of the climate storm. Rising temperatures, droughts, and unpredictable weather are pushing millions, especially children, to the brink. 2.4 million people face severe hunger in Zambia this year, with children disproportionately impacted. Our message is clear: Africa needs accelerated adaptation finance now. As the Global North pledges to double adaptation funds by 2025, the urgency of this moment cannot be overstated. Africa’s climate finance needs stand at $277 billion a year, but we’re receiving only $30 billion. This gap is more than a statistic; it’s a life-or-death divide for millions. To every voice rising up at COP29, let’s make this message impossible to ignore.
