  • The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) has launched the first-ever National Museum Survey (NMS) to better understand the impact of museums across the U.S. This data will help inform policymakers, the public, and museum professionals about the vital social, cultural, educational, and economic roles museums play. IMLS invites participation from a wide range of institutions—including children’s museums, zoos, aquariums, historic sites, and more. Results, expected in summer 2025, will be available through reports and a dynamic data portal to support benchmarking and trend analysis.
