Mass League President and CEO Michael Curry, Esq., was recently part of a panel discussion hosted by the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics (Penn LDI) that addressed the challenges faced by community health centers (CHCs) nationwide in moving from fee-for-service payment models to value-based payment (VBP) models. Curry was joined by Amanda Pears Kelly, CEO of Advocates for Community Health and Executive Director of the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved, and Leighton Ku, MPH, PhD, Professor and Director of the Center for Health Policy Research at The George Washington University- Milken Institute School of Public Health, for the “Advancing Value-Based Care in Community Health Centers” virtual seminar. The consensus among the panelists was that CHCs already provide high-quality, cost-effective (i.e., valued-based) care but have deep concerns about their operational capacity to convert to VBP models and the fiscal downsides of these models in CHC settings. Visit https://lnkd.in/eWSU95NM for further details about the panelists' discussion, including a link to the seminar recording. #valuebasedcare #valuebasedpayment #feeforservice
