After 2.5 years of intense focus building Astound, I took a few days in Lake Como to recharge and reflect. Looking up from my glass of wine, I was struck by the sheer magnitude of what it took to form this place—the immense scale of tectonic shifts and glacial carvings. It made me think a lot about the word scale—something everyone’s chasing: startups, universities, research centers, nonprofits, and more. Scaling isn’t just about growth; it’s forged through time, patience, and unrelenting effort. I'm more driven than ever by Astound's mission: empowering scientists to scale their research funding and helping biotech companies grow through non-dilutive funding opportunities. We navigate the complex funding landscape, making it easier for scientists and businesses alike to thrive. An unexpected and exciting outcome of this work has been fostering partnerships between biotechs and academic scientists, enabling them to create collaborative and fundable proposals.
