We couldn't think of a better way to close out 2024 than by celebrating two remarkable leaders who mean so much to ATCS – CEO Young Ho Chang and Transportation Practice Lead John A. DePasquale, PE – as they retire. 🎉 Earlier this month, we hosted a retirement reception surrounded by former and current ATCS staff, clients, and colleagues from across their careers to honor their lasting impact on ATCS and the entire industry. ATCS founder Bill Caruthers, who hired both Ho and John, reflected on their leadership, dedication, and instrumental roles in growing ATCS into the trusted, culture-driven firm it is today. From shaping ATCS' transportation practice and guiding its evolution as a multidisciplinary engineering consulting leader to mentoring the next generation of talent and delivering innovative solutions, Ho and John leave behind a legacy that will continue to inspire. We are deeply grateful for their vision, expertise, and unwavering commitment to culture and excellence. Congratulations, Ho and John, on your well-deserved retirements! #WeAreATCS #Celebration #ThankYou #ServantLeadership #Wrapped

At ATCS, we value our team members’ impact both in and outside the workplace. ATCS Transportation Engineering Director Cerasela Cristei, PhD, PE, PMP, PTOE also serves as a professor with the GMU CEIE. This semester, Cerasela has been working with CEIE seniors on conceptual designs for the expansion of George Mason University’s #MasonSquare Campus in Arlington. The project brings students and industry leaders together to develop innovative concepts that reimagine the campus and corridor. Over the seven-week course, Vice-Chair Takis Karantonis, Arlington County Board; Dr. Liza Wilson Durant, associate provost, professor, and associate dean at George Mason University - College of Engineering and Computing; Toni Andrews, associate director of Community and Local Government Relations at GMU; Anthony Fusarelli, director of planning, Arlington County Government; Alex Iszard, assistant vice president of Planning, Design, and Construction at Mason Facilities; and Grid Gremi, PE, managing director at MLG Construction Management, have contributed their expertise, guidance, and feedback to support the students’ designs. On December 6th, Vice-Chair Karantonis joined the class to review and provide feedback on the students’ work, further enhancing the learning experience. This effort reflects the values we uphold at ATCS—fostering innovation and supporting the development of future engineers. We’re grateful to Cerasela and the many contributors who have guided and inspired these students as they bring fresh perspectives to real-world challenges. #WeAreATCS #TransportationDesign #GMUCEIE #EngineeringEducation #FutureEngineers
