  • "Celebrating my 80th birthday surrounded by so many wonderful people was truly heartwarming," shares Joyce, a receptionist at Atria Park of St. Joseph's. "Everything was perfect...the food, music and decorations. They even surprised me by including two of my sons and my daughter-in-law! It was a day filled with joy, laughter and oh-so many memories that I will cherish forever." Joyce has been a beloved fixture of her community for more than 9 years. "Before this, I was the caregiver for my husband for almost 20 years, and after he passed, I wanted to stay active. I have always believed in the importance of helping others and felt, at my age, I could relate to our residents. Atria is the perfect fit for me!" "My favorite thing about working in the community is the opportunity to connect with so many wonderful people every day," Joyce says. "I truly enjoy being able to greet everyone by name and hear their many stories. It brings me joy to know that I can make even a small difference by simply being there to listen, lend a hand or just share a smile. The relationships I've built here are incredibly special to me, and I consider it a blessing to come to work each day." Happiest of birthdays, Joyce! ☀️🧡

  • "My favorite dance style is the Viennese Waltz, because it captures the essence of romance and elegance," reminisces Joan. "I danced professionally for 18 years, but my career was nursing." "My favorite part of being a nurse was being able to travel to different countries, where I gained more nursing skills," she shares. "I started studying nursing in the UK, and I was given the opportunity to continue my nursing studies in Canada until I moved to the US, where I was given the opportunity to continue to care for others and contribute to their well-being." Now a resident of Atria Park of Vintage Hills, she continues to care for and connect with others. "Living with my newfound friends in our community is wonderful. It creates a sense of belonging and support, knowing that there are familiar faces and kindred spirits nearby. Engaging in activities together strengthens our bonds. It feels like being part of a close-knit family where every day is filled with opportunities to connect and share experiences." We're so glad to have Joan as a part of our family!
