    U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) Final Rule on Raising Salary Threshold for White-Collar Overtime and Minimum Wage Exemptions is no longer in effect. Key Points Impact: As of November 15, 2024, a federal court has struck down the U.S. DOL final rule that increased salary thresholds for white-collar overtime exemptions, meaning the rule is no longer in effect and the previous salary thresholds are back in place; this includes the July 1, 2024 increase that had previously taken effect. Reason for the ruling: The court found that the DOL exceeded its authority in setting the new salary thresholds. Effective date: The ruling applies nationwide, immediately invalidating the increased salary thresholds.
