  • Happy Thanksgiving! This is a day to spend with family and to give thanks to God. Yesterday, in noonday prayers the faculty and staff shared what they were thankful for. One interesting thought was appreciation for the ability to give thanks! Others gave thanks for support from others during difficult times. What are you thankful for this year?

  • On Saturday, October 26th #AURA partnered with the American University of Health Sciences for their 10th annual Health and Wellness Fair! The fair allowed local families to enjoy arts and crafts activities and free food and groceries. Additionally visitors had the opportunity to receive a free flu vaccine and health screenings! AURA would like to thank all of our faculty and students who participated in making this an amazing Health Fair! 🎃🎨

  • Hallowe'en is an ancient celebration that goes back to Samhain, a Celtic festival when the souls of the dead might come to visit. Costumes and trick-or-treat also go back a ways, too. Like many holidays, people sometimes celebrate too much and there are many unfortunate accidents. As a result of the occult associations and the danger on the streets, churches often offer a Hallowe'en alternative with a safe space, non-scary costumes, and (of course) lots of candy often on the theme of 'All Saints' which is the Christian holiday on November 1. Hallowe'en is a contraction of Hallows' (Saints') Evening.
