On #HolocaustMemorialDay, we honor the millions of lives lost and reflect on the bravery of those who helped liberate the survivors—like U.S. Army soldier SSG Moran, who played a key role in freeing the Buchenwald Concentration Camp. His courage serves as a powerful reminder of the need to stand against hatred and intolerance, ensuring such atrocities are never repeated. About us
The Association of the United States Army is a nonprofit educational and professional development association serving America’s Total Army, our Soldiers, Army civilians, and their families; our industry partners, and supporters of a strong national defense. AUSA provides a voice for the Army, supports the Soldier, and honors those who have served in order to advance the security of the nation. AUSA educates its members, the public, industry, and Congress about the critical nature of land warfare and the Army’s central role in national defense. AUSA informs its members, our communities, and Congress about issues affecting America’s Army and the Soldiers who serve in the Regular Army, Army National Guard, and Army Reserve. AUSA connects the Army to the American people at the national, regional, and chapter levels.

As the Army advances its plan to confront modern warfare with technology, its most powerful weapon is its code of ethics, according to the author of a new paper published by the Association of the U.S. Army. “Our Army’s greatest asset is not the sophisticated machinery it deploys nor the advanced weaponry it commands. Instead, it is an intangible force,” writes Maj. Ryan Crayne. “The moral code binding Soldiers to their purpose and to a higher standard of conduct is known as the Army Ethic.” #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/o7noZqw #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #higherstandard #codeofethics #ethics

Instead of relying on nine-month deployments to Europe, the Army should forward-station troops in allied European countries, according to a recent report from the Atlantic Council . “Assuming the United States maintains some kind of troop presence in Europe … relying primarily on rotational presence doesn’t make sense fiscally,” writes author John Deni, a research professor at the Army’s Strategic Studies Institute and a nonresident senior fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Transatlantic Security Initiative. “This may seem counterintuitive, but recent U.S. Army data indicate that recurring annual costs of back-to-back nine-month deployments outweigh those associated with basing units in Europe on a full-time basis.” #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/vis5Z8o #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #europe #strategicstudies #deployments #stress

The US Army needs to move away from an overfocus on technology to effectively predict the character of war and use it to deter and defeat adversaries, according to a new paper published by the Association of the U.S. Army. “Today, many writers are making recommendations about how the U.S. Army should fight based on observations of the Ukrainian War. ... These commentators often focus on the technology employed in Ukraine,” Maj. Robert Rose writes. “As the Army prepares to fight a potential future conflict, it should not just analyze contemporary conflicts, but it should also remember its past to understand how the characters of its wars have influenced the strategies it has pursued.” #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/Yfhu7xM #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #paper #tech #myopia #technology #strategy

Confidence in the military is increasing, and Americans support increased defense spending, according to a new survey from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute. “The American people … want a U.S. military capable of deterring autocratic powers like China and Russia and believe U.S. forces should maintain a global presence across multiple theaters to address the diverse array of threats we face,” the survey found. #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/DanK_PU #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #survey
