The Austin Bar Association is a nonprofit, voluntary association operated for charitable and educational purposes.
About us
The Austin Bar Association was founded in 1893 as a nonprofit professional organization for attorneys. Its mission is to promote professionalism and camaraderie within the legal community, to aid in the administration of justice, to enhance the delivery of and access to quality legal services, to educate the public about the legal system, and to actively participate in the success of the community... at large. Today, more than 4,100 local attorneys in 21 different legal specialties contribute to the Bar's mission by organizing CLE opportunities, attending social functions, volunteering legal services, and raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations for local charities all year long. Lawyers in good standing with the State Bar of Texas who live or work in Travis County or surrounding counties are eligible for membership. Affiliated organizations include the Austin Young Lawyers Association, Austin Association of Legal Administrators, Austin Lawyers Auxiliary, and others.

In this installment of Entre Nous, author Claude Ducloux critiques the modern trend of remote learning and working "at distance," emphasizing the value of in-person mentorship and apprenticeships. Drawing parallels to ancient trades, Claude argues that legal professionals, like doctors and engineers, should prioritize hands-on experience under seasoned mentors for a successful career. #Mentorship #LegalProfession #Apprenticeships #LearningByDoing #InPersonTraining #LegalEducation #Lawyers #ProfessionalDevelopment http://dlvr.it/THS5wm
