What a fantastic week at #ATB2025 in Vienna! 🇦🇹 Last week, we attended the Austrian Travel Business (ATB), Austria’s leading tourism marketplace, held in Vienna. With over 300 exhibitors and 350 international buyers representing more than 40 countries, the event was a vibrant meeting ground for innovative discussions and fruitful networking. 🌍 🤝 Our highlight of the week was welcoming a group of U.S. and Canadian travel experts and trip designers, to show them the very best of Vienna's cultural treasures. Their curated experience included visits to the newly opened Johann Strauss Museum - New Dimensions, the reimagined Wien Museum, the newly opened Strauss Dinner Show, a visit to the Belvedere Museum, and the impressive Heidi Horten Collection. 🏛️ 🎶 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the success of this wonderful week. Together, we brought Austria’s charm to the global stage! #Lebensgefühl #feelaustria #weconnect 📸 Austria Tourism

It’s time to say goodbye… 👋💐 It's time to bid farewell as Helen Bitschnau transitions from our New York office to join the team at Austria Tourism in Warsaw. We’re truly excited about her new adventures but will certainly miss her here in New York. It was such a pleasure working with her, always bringing her witty charm, her passion for travel, and her deep knowledge of tourism—not to mention those delicious Vorarlberg treats—to the table. Her ability to light up the room and bring innovative ideas has made her an invaluable part of our team. To Helen, we want to say a heartfelt thank you and wish you the very best in your new role! We're just a message away and can't wait to hear all about your successes in Warsaw. We look forward to continuing our collaboration across continents and witnessing the wonderful achievements we know you will bring to our Warsaw office. Goodbye for now, Helen—Warsaw is lucky to have you! 🫶

Warren Miller shows in the U.S. – it’s a wrap! ⛷️🎬 Austria was once again featured in this year’s edition of the legendary Warren Miller ski film, showcasing the stunning Arlberg and Montafon ski regions. Together with our friends at Tirol Werbung, we took the opportunity to partner with Warren Miller Entertainment, and over the past few months, our team followed the film tour across 8 U.S. locations, promoting Tirol’s premier ski resorts. 🎿🏔️ It was such a joy to engage with a great number of fellow ski enthusiasts about what our beautiful Alps have to offer! 🙌 While in these cities, we also took the opportunity to meet with selected media and travel industry professionals, providing them with deeper insights and detailed information about what makes skiing in Tirol extra special. Here are some impressions from our trips to Boulder, Tarrytown, Stamford, Hartford, Boston, Denver, Seattle, and Aspen. #feelaustria #lebensgefühl #weconnect

Austria at the #USTOA2024 Conference 🌎 ✈️ 🇦🇹 For the past 46 years, the annual United States Tour Operators Association Conference & Marketplace has stood out as a premier travel industry event, bringing together the leading American tour operators with global tourism suppliers and destinations. It provides an intimate and exclusive setting for gaining insights into the latest industry trends, networking, and developing new business partnerships. At this year’s conference in Florida, Austria showcased a vibrant cultural presence with a strong delegation from the Austrian Leading Sights – Förderung österreichischer Sehenswürdigkeiten initiative, including such iconic cultural institutions like the Albertina Museum, Belvedere Museum, Schönbrunn Group, Schönbrunn Palace Concerts, Melk Abbey, SWAROVSKI Crystal Worlds, and VIENNA SIGHTSEEING TOURS - Wiener Rundfahrten GmbH & Co. KG. From our team, Gabriele Wolf used the conference to meet with numerous tour operators and travel industry partners to discuss the latest trends and to provide input to shape the travel product of tomorrow. #feelaustria #lebensgefühl

Austrian fondue night for our team 🧀 🇦🇹 Did you know that fondue isn't just a Swiss tradition? Vorarlberg in Austria also boasts a celebrated fondue scene, and we might just argue it's even better! 😉 Last night, our team gathered for our annual fondue dinner, featuring Vorarlberg's renowned "Bergkäs" cheese, brought to us by our own Vorarlbergian, Helen Bitschnau, straight from the Alps. 🥰 🏔️

🎶 The "Sound of Austria" touching down in the U.S.! 🇦🇹 🇺🇸 This November, we were delighted to make our stops in New York, Washington D.C., and Chicago together with a delegation from Salzburg to kick off the 60th anniversary of the film "The Sound of Music" for 2025! ✨ No other film is as closely connected to a destination as "The Sound of Music" is to Austria. The film's legacy continues to resonate through hills and hearts around the world, and next year, Salzburg is set to take center stage in the celebrations. 🎬 🎶 What a pleasure to see so many interested people from the media and travel trade attending our events! We hope everyone is starting to practice their "Do-Re-Mi"s for next year's festivities! Big thanks go out to our partners who helped bring the sound of Austria to the U.S. stage: Stefan Schnöll, Deputy Governor of Salzburg; Leo Bauernberger, CEO of SalzburgerLand Tourism; Dr. Kristina Hammer, President of the Salzburger Festspiele; and Kristina von Trapp, granddaughter of Maria von Trapp. Accompanied by our CEO Astrid Steharnig-Staudinger and Head of Market USA/Canada Michael Gigl. 📸 Photo Credits: Michael Nagle & Austrian Embassy Washington

#MeetOurTeam Meet Michael Gigl, our Head of Market USA/Canada. Originally from Vienna, his journey with Austria Tourism began remarkable 40 years ago in Frankfurt, Germany, marking a recent significant anniversary! 🍾 From Frankfurt to Los Angeles to New York, Michael has continued to share his deep passion for bringing the best of Austria to the global stage throughout all these years and has infused his team in New York and industry colleagues with the same spirit. Here are some of his favorite Austrian things: • His favorite spot in Austria: The Schönbrunnerbad, his go-to place whenever he is in Vienna during the summer months for a vigorous swim workout in the shade of the famous Schönbrunn Palace. • His favorite Austrian dish: "Beuschl mit Knödel" – a traditional Viennese stew made from lung and heart, usually served with dumplings – cherished for its rich flavors and comforting qualities. • His favorite Austrian word: "Leiwand" – a Viennese slang term that captures when something is just perfect, cool, or amazing.
