PINNs are the bridge between the digital and the physical world at the point of data creation. The Public Infrastructure Network Node (PINN) initiative is the first unified open standard to support Broadband, NextG wireless, Edge Computing, Radar, Lidar, Enhanced GPS, and Intelligent Transportation Systems. PINNs are designed to deliver a multitude of advanced edge sensors and computing capabilities. This digital infrastructure will support decades worth of commercial impact and provide a platform that can easily be upgraded with new sensors, new radio access networks, and the continued evolution of computing resources. Data gravity now mandates that processing occurs at the digital edge and the PINN will power this next layer of computing.

The next time you are stuck in traffic, think about the evolution of simple traffic light. They have not been around as long as you might think. We needed them to improve traffic flow in cities between horse drawn wagons, motor cars, and pedestrians. Fast forward a hundred years and it's time for another revolution in the transportation infrastructure. We need intelligent Infrastructure to help improve traffic flow between human driven vehicles, autonomous vehicles, and pedestrians.

Another Autonomous Vehicle bites the dust...after spending $10B! Imagine how much easier it would have been for GM (and everyone else) if we had an Intelligent Infrastructure (I2) to help those AVs move. The I2 are stationary autonomous robots that help mobile AV move. Imagine a very smart street light that continuously watches the road and tells AVs and driver assisted vehicles what's in front of them or around the corner. This makes it much easier for the AV. Especially in a heterogeneous environment with AVs, normal vehicles, people, and animals. Each I2 tower has sensors, processing, communications, and AI/ML/Autonomy software to do their job. There is huge economic value in the I2. There is massive societal and environmental value in having AVs move more safely and efficiently. Imagine the efficiency of reducing accidents by 50%, fuel consumption by 25%, and commute times by 50%. Now that is efficient! Finally, there is critical strategic importance in accelerating the deployment of autonomous systems in the US. The I2 is a national imperative. DOGE please think about this. https://lnkd.in/gvXxcXQA
