I am excited to announce that this month, I completed my internship as a remote graphic design intern with Auxilium Health, Inc! By collaborating with team members, I worked on projects such as defining the brand guidelines, creating infographics to illustrate statistics/wound mechanisms, designing vertical banners, and more. I was able to expand my knowledge of design, business, and myself as a person- defining my interest in healthcare and the arts. I would like to express my gratitude to Isaiah Kaiser, PhD and Aparna Agrawal, PhD for their guidance throughout the experience; I am incredibly thankful to have worked together. I will hold the lessons I learned close to my heart as my journey continues as an incoming fourth year student at Case Western Reserve University. Chronic wounds affect 2.5% of the total population in the US, with the elderly being the most impacted. By 2060, the elderly population in the US is projected to exceed 94.7 million. This increase, coupled with a global rise in diabetes and other health issues, will exacerbate the problem of chronic wounds. Dressings are commonly used to remove excess exudate and other harmful materials, preventing further contamination and infection when applied correctly.
