Words can have multiple meanings in the English language while maintaining the same spelling. Val Swisher mentions a surprising factoid in this clip, referencing from her book: "There are 37 ways to say 'Click Okay.'" Val Swisher of Content Rules, Inc. discusses with Kevin Nichols the importance of consistent terminology in communication, particularly in content strategy and translation. Having one term for any word is recommended unless these terms are "mapped in a taxonomy in a way that it can speak to...the discrepancies." If you decide to use more than one term, there will be challenges and costs of using multiple terms for the same concept, such as Val Swisher's 'Click OK' example.
