They did it! 🚀   🤝 400 years of close collaboration between #Wallonia and New York 🦾 10 Tech startups in GreenTech, DeepTech, EntertainmentTech and E-Health 🎯 A one-week acceleration program at ERA Global    Here are a few snapshots of last week #WallAboutNext in New York   - At ERA Global, the startups from #Belgium refined their pitches and strategies to scale and thrive in the U.S. market. - During a workshop at Cooley LLP, experts provided essential insights into fundraising strategies, deal structuring, and engaging with U.S. investors.   - Thanks to the support of the Consulate General of Belgium in New York general of Belgium Filip Vanden Bulcke and Agoria Sports & Entertainment Technology Club, MolenGeek, Alterface, Skemmi, and Botronics connected with key U.S. sports stakeholders, for possible innovative collaboration ahead of the 2026 World Cup in #NewJersey. A special thanks to the incredible tech company EVS Broadcast Equipment for hosting us.   - In a roundtable at BelCham, ODIX, MolenGeek, D-Carbonize, and Features Analytics exchanged ideas with La Creme de la STEM ™ - female founders support system. 400 Years Wallonia in New York- Commemorating history by shaping the future with 10 Tech startups   Did you know that 400 years ago, the first Walloon settlers landed in New York? In 1624, these pioneers contributed to the foundation for what would become one of the most iconic cities in the world.   Fast forward to 2024: while we commemorate this anniversary, we are also shaping the future, under the motto #WallAboutNext. Through the "400 Years" mission, AWEX USA has invited 10 innovative, promising Walloon startups to accelerate growth opportunities on the U.S. market.   On October 20th, we kicked off this mission with an event hosted at BelCham, the Belgian-American Chamber of Commerce in New York. 🎙️ The evening opened with welcoming words from Sophie Berben, CEO of BelCham, followed by an introduction by Pascale Delcomminette, CEO of Wallonia Export & Investment Agency - Wallonie Bruxelles International. Off to a great start for the Belgian Commercial Mission participating at the RE+ convention celebrating its 20th anniversary during the LA Climate Week 🌱 After a successful program in Toronto, the 4 companies based in #Wallonia are ready to meet extraordinary US partners active in circular economy, energy and environment: IBA, a world leader in particle accelerator technology, the company developed a new portfolio of services and end-to-end solutions powered by the iconic Rhodotron®. These solutions allow in-house customers or contract sterilizers to sterilize medical devices either by E-beam in boxes or X-ray in pallets. That equipment could be used for environmental applications including persistent organic polluants treatments. John Cockerill Hydrogen: With decades of experience in hydrogen technologies, the group is a world leading electrolyzer manufacturer with a broad offering from power conversion to gas separation, purification and balance of plant. ReVolta’s mission is to bring the energy transition to the energy user’s hands. Since 2020, ReVolta has been developing the ReVolta Suite, the equivalent of Google Nest for stationary batteries and EV chargers (EVCS). Tonomia SRL, a pioneering energy tech startup founded in 2023 and envisioned in 2020. They are active in engineering innovations, proudly presenting their first product line: the all-in-one eParking Solar Modules. 🚀 Delighted to take part in an international business journey in San Francisco through the explort program! 🌎 This experience enables me to engage in various global initiatives, with autonomous mobility being just one of the many highlights. As part of this journey, I had the opportunity to participate in the #MobilityMasterClass organized by Espaces-Mobilités and ITS.be in San Francisco this past August. 🌉 With its advanced autonomous vehicle deployment, San Francisco provided the perfect setting for this study trip, clearly demonstrating how #AI in mobility is driving change! 💡 🚗 During the Master Class, vital insights and expertise were gained through visits to leading industry players like Google, Waymo, Tesla, Cruise, Nuro, and Pony.ai, as well as the University of San Francisco. 🌍 The week also featured the EU Night, organized by AWEX USA & hub.brussels, adding a unique and engaging element to the program. Here are my key takeaways from this intensive and thought-provoking week: ✅ The importance of regulatory frameworks ✅ The power of public-private collaboration ✅ The value of hands-on, real-world testing I trust these insights will drive Belgium’s leap into sustainable mobility. 🚀 The journey to a new era of transportation has just begun! 🌟 A big thank you to the Espaces-Mobilités team and the AWEX USA & hub.brussels offices in San Francisco for this engaging program and valuable connections!
