  • Following the court's decision to vacate the 2024 salary threshold increases, companies should carefully evaluate their employee classifications. Key considerations include: - Whether to reclassify employees back to exempt, ensuring they meet duties test requirements. - Conducting regular reviews of job roles and functions, especially as automation impacts duties. - Providing prior written notice, as required in some states, for reclassifications. Maintaining competitive salaries and transparency during any reclassification process will support employee morale and alignment with compliance standards. Let us know if you’d like assistance reviewing current classifications or ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations. #HROutsourced

Bilingual Human Resources Consultant | People-Centric Leader | HR Strategist | Organizational Design & Career Development Advocate| Let me show you how strategic HR can drive your business forward

Recently, my husband was transferred from Colorado to North Dakota for his rotational position. As an HR professional myself, I have high standards for smooth transitions and effective onboarding processes. Unfortunately, things didn’t quite go as expected. Upon arrival, the preparation was lacking. His boss didn’t have keys to his assigned apartment; despite knowing we’d be arriving for more than two weeks. After being told to check the apartment hours later, we discovered a challenging scene: a shared space with no clear assignment, a dirty room, no towels, and no basics like clean sheets. Thankfully, one of his roommates was there, but we still found ourselves handling basic setup tasks we thought would be ready, including making copies of the keys. Adding to the complexity, my husband’s boss requested a month of consecutive work right off the bat—no extra time off in exchange, despite the fact that my husband’s vacation request had already been denied and there was a complete communication breakdown between his previous and current location. To add context, my husband didn’t volunteer for this transfer - he was specifically requested, with a clear message that the business needed him there. As HR professionals, we know the power of strong onboarding processes and communication, especially when a transfer is involved. A seamless experience shows employees they’re valued and respected. Reflecting on this experience, I’m reminded how vital it is that HR and management teams communicate clearly, plan thoroughly, and prioritize a warm, welcoming experience for everyone. Am I overthinking? Or does this story highlight the value of clear communication and preparation? What would you add to your onboarding checklist to make sure employees feel supported in their transitions? #HR #Onboarding #EmployeeExperience #Leadership #WorkLife

  • We're passionate about helping our clients build resilient and productive teams. One impactful strategy we recommend is incorporating a “Gratitude Round” in team meetings. This involves taking a few minutes for team members to share something they’re grateful for—whether work-related or personal. Studies show that gratitude practices can significantly enhance emotional well-being and improve productivity. Reflecting on positives, even briefly, fosters a stronger sense of connection and motivates individuals, resulting in a more engaged and cohesive team. 💬 How does it work? At the start of each meeting, simply go around the room and have each team member share one thing they’re grateful for. It’s a small step, but it can set a positive tone and create an environment where team members feel appreciated and connected. At Azar Consulting, we help clients implement small yet powerful changes like this that make a lasting difference. Are you ready to cultivate a positive culture within your team? Let’s chat about how we can help. Thanks to Ania Halama for the insights and the tips. • The role of HR has evolved dramatically over the past decade. We’ve moved away from traditional, process-heavy practices and into a more strategic, people-focused approach. Here’s how: Traditional HR:   - Focused primarily on compliance, administration, and enforcing policies. - Seen as a support function that operates behind the scenes. - Prioritized transactional tasks like payroll, recruitment paperwork, and performance reviews. Modern HR:   - Shifts to a strategic business partner that drives company growth and innovation. - Emphasizes employee experience, engagement, and wellbeing as core responsibilities. - Utilizes data analytics and AI for decision-making in recruitment, performance management, and retention. - Promotes flexible work models, inclusion, and workplace culture to retain top talent.    Modern HR is no longer just about filling positions or ensuring compliance. It’s about building strong, engaged teams that help a business thrive. How is your HR department transforming in 2024 and for 2025? Are you embracing modern HR strategies that prioritize people and innovation? Let’s connect and share insights on how we can all adapt to the changing landscape of human resources! #HR #ModernHR #EmployeeExperience #HRTrends #WorkplaceCulture #HumanResources #HRConsultingforSmallBusiness
