Creating an Arizona where all children thrive

About us

Through research, publications, media campaigns, and advocacy, CAA seeks to influence policies and decisions affecting the lives of Arizona children and their families on issues related to health, child abuse and neglect, early care and education, budget and taxes, juvenile justice, children and immigration, and working families. CAA works toward a future in which all children have health insurance, no child is raised in poverty and hunger, every child enters school ready to learn and succeed, no child endures the ravages of abuse and neglect, every child has a place to call home, and struggling teens have the support they need to become responsible adults.

  • Every year, National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is recognized intentionally right before Thanksgiving as an opportunity to bring attention to those who do not have a place to call home or know when their next meal will be. At Children’s Action Alliance, bringing awareness to the impact of homelessness and food insecurity on children and youth in Arizona is an important part of advocating for solutions that work. • 💫 The Inaugural Families First Forum is a wrap! On November 14th, Children’s Action Alliance and the Arizona Center for Economic Progress teamed up with Wildfire and the Arizona Alliance for Community Health Centers to host the event at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix. The forum united many incredible Arizona leaders from various policy and service sectors to learn about each other's issues and priorities. This collaborative effort is crucial as we prepare to defend essential services that impact struggling Arizonans. There's a lot of work ahead, and our partnerships are more important than ever. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the forum a success! 🎉 #FamiliesFirst #ArizonaLeadership #CommunityPartners #EssentialServices

  • The Families First Forum was designed to bring together partners to understand the data and the experiences that families are facing in their ability to afford health care, a roof over their head, adequate nutrition, child care, family security, and other essential needs. Final thanks to our last speakers of the day, who lead critical work all year. Matt Jewett of Children’s Action Alliance moderated a panel on Building Community Health with April Bradham, Arizona Food Bank Network; Teniqua Broughton, The State of Black Arizona; and Mike Renaud, Valle Del Sol. Lisa Florian of the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona wrapped up the day by sharing how momentum was built and continues for the Pima County Prosperity Initiative. It’s a model of committed leadership. Thanks again to all of our speakers and to our partners and sponsors! We will build on this foundation together.
