When you've lost everything but hope, eat yellow sno. In the Spring of 1990, Bahama Buck's first stand was drawn in a Texas Tech University spiral notebook. The first stand is as big as the rug in the picture. Now, Bahama Buck's has over 100 locations, including one in Puerto Rico. When someone goes to one of those locations, I bet they don't know that the headquarters, distribution center, and flavor creation is all done at the corner of 50th and Loop 289 in Lubbock, TX. I feel like we all know someone who at some point has worked at Bahama Buck's Franchise Corporation - it's almost like a rite of passage. But to know how much they have poured into this business for almost 35-years is a true entrepreneur success story. The formula for success is simple - Bless our guest. What we see now was always the goal, it just took a bit to get there. Isn't that always how God's timing works? In 1995, they told us to "Eat Yellow Snow." In 2020, when travel was limited, Bahama Buck's brought the vacation. The color of the color changing spoons may have changed over the years, but the message, the detail on the back of the spoon remains the same: Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! With her keen eye for detail and an even better ability to connect with people, she ensures that all her duties are performed with excellence and a touch of laughter along the way. Last week, we had the honor of celebrating Tom and Cindy Buchanan’s retirement at the Support Center. Friends, family, and colleagues from all over gathered to pay tribute to their incredible contributions and legacy. From constructing and decorating shops in the early days to franchising and developing a national brand, we’re grateful for the decades of dedicated service. Tom and Cindy’s steadfast support, faithful leadership, and guiding hands have been the foundation of our success. As they step into their next chapter, we’re excited to continue benefiting from their wisdom and guidance as Board Members. We carry forward the values they’ve instilled in us to lead with honor, dignity, and respect. Tom and Cindy, we send you with our deepest respect, love, and heartfelt blessings as you embark on your next adventure!
