Welcome aboard SNOMED International team. We are proud to be a member of Bahmni Coalition. Bahmni , IPLit Solutions LLP Ravi Patil
Big news: We are now officially a part of the Bahmni Coalition, a group of organizations that have developed Bahmni, an easy-to-use, open-source hospital system for healthcare providers in low-resource settings that is considered a digital public good. Joining the Coalition was the next logical step for SNOMED International, which had worked with the organization over the past year or so to integrate a #snomedct module into the Bahmni electronic medical record (#EMR), enabling clinicians to record diagnoses and other clinical data. According to Satish Kumar Viswanathan (He/Him), head of social change for Thoughtworks in India and a member of the governing committee of the Bahmni Coalition, the partnership with SNOMED International "marks a significant step forward in empowering healthcare workers in low-resource settings with the tools they need to deliver standardized, accurate care. The integration of SNOMED CT with Bahmni improves data management while also establishing the foundation for better patient outcomes and a more equitable healthcare landscape globally.” As part of the Coalition, which includes Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), OpenMRS and others, SNOMED International will help to advance the organization’s mission and goals, build support for the Bahmni EMR, participate in and drive marketing activities, and participate in the Coalition’s various committees. Stay tuned for more developments over the coming months! Read the news release here: https://lnkd.in/gyiEbMnx Nick Egarhos

Having been involved way back at the beginning of this, it's great to see SNOMED International join the coalition through the excellent work of the SNOMED International team, especially Kai Kewley & Nick Egarhos, and the rest of the Bahmni team, after working together to integrate #SNOMEDCT into the Bahmni open-source EMR.

This partnership will strengthen the Bahmni community via SNOMED's deep expertise in clinical terminology and boost SNOMED's mission of empowering healthcare workers to deliver standardized accurate care by making SNOMED-CT available to low resource countries with emerging digital capabilities for the benefit of the global population.
