***Silicon Valley of Tomorrow: Nurturing Exponential Innovation and Sustainable Economic Development.*** Enjoyed producing and moderating a power packed panel last Friday with 5 elected leaders at the Baird Augustine 1000X investor conference. California State Treasurer Fiona Ma preceded our panel, giving us some top down context I could double click on. Talk about reinventing the play during game time. 👍🏼In true Silicon Valley spirit, the panelists were challenged to share what made each City truly unique giving them unfair competitive advantage AND 🤝then we switched to a collaborative mode to explore how might Cities continue to come together to strengthen ecosystem effects. Special thanks to Silicon Valley’s Fabulous Five: 🌟Matt Mahan - Mayor of San Jose (Capital of Silicon Valley) 🌟Kathy Watanabe - Councilmember, Santa Clara (in whose home district we were meeting) 🌟Murali Srinivasan - Vice Mayor of Sunnyvale 🌟Raj Salwan - Councilmember, Fremont and Candidate for Mayor 🌟Greg Tanaka - Councilmember, Palo Alto 👏🏻Special shout out to the City of San José Chief Innovation Officer Stephen Caines, Esq. who came with his team to connect and drive so many conversations forward. San Jose invited other cities to expand participation in the Government AI Coalition, to shape the future of AI in government. 🔌I think the idea of creating “public AI utilities” doesn’t seem to be a far fetched one. Imagine the economies of scale and exponentiality from collaboration amongst a wide range of public and private sector players … creating better social, economic and personal outcomes for all. 🏁What is abundantly clear is that we are in the early days when it comes to AI + public sector + Silicon Valley. Entire new constituent, community and commercial models are going to emerge. 🪫Tons of niche opportunities for AI and Agentic systems to eliminate friction, improve productivity, and modernize human experiences. New connector capabilities, insight pools, and responsive actions are bound to emerge. ✨The digital twin of the human and the digital twin of the cities we work, live and play in will interact in new ways … possibly requiring us to reimagine jurisdiction and other boundaries setup in the pre-AI era. 📝Powerful reminder: Foundational needs such as skilled talented workforce, affordable housing, accessible interconnected transportation, reliable low cost energy and public safety are all areas where the power of collaboration will yield even better outcomes for all Cities. At HumanSense Labs, given our commitment to unlocking human potential and exponential value with the spark of Silicon Valley innovation, this was a truly special panel … which I hope will lead to more conversations, connections and collaboration amongst all attendees.
