Providing educational technology consulting services to higher education and K-12

About us

I’m a third-generation educator and innovator with over 30 years of experience working at the intersection of teaching, learning and technology within higher education and K-12. Over my career I’ve had the opportunity to do everything from teaching in the classroom to leading international open-source software organizations, always with the goal of improving teaching and learning, particularly for marginalized students. After working in leadership roles at colleges, non-profits, startups and, most recently, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, I decided to branch out on my own and founded Baron’s EdTech Consulting LLC. My goal is to leverage my diverse experience with educational technologies to help institutions and schools innovate in ways that transform and enhance learning for all students. I offer a range of services including strategy development, executive communications, project planning and management as well as strategic advising on educational technologies and academic programs. My clients have included a range of national and international non-profit organizations, including those who service Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). While I work with a broad range of different types of institutions and schools, I’m particularly passionate about those organizations that serve and support Black, Latino, Indigenous students and students from low-income backgrounds.
