When our clients, Claire and Brian, made their way to Alsace, they knew they were in for a treat. At Les Vignobles Ruhlmann, they were warmly welcomed by the ever-gracious Laurence Ruhlmann, who personally gave them an exclusive tour of the vineyard. From learning about the intricate winemaking process to exploring the lush vines 🍇 under the Alsatian sun, every moment was a testament to the passion and heritage that defines the Ruhlmann family. The highlight, of course, was the tasting 🍷—a symphony of flavors that captured the terroir of Alsace in every sip. 🍾 And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, Laurence sent us photos 📷 of Claire and Brian enjoying their visit. Et voilà! A picture-perfect moment to treasure. ☎️ If you would like to know more about our wines, buy or distribute them, contact me at jp@bbrimports.com I am Jean-Philippe Guy, owner of BBR Imports in Houston, Texas.

🇺🇸 With Donald Trump’s election and the possibility of new tariffs on European products—including French wines—importers, transportation companies, and 🍇French winemakers are understandably concerned about the impact on U.S. consumers and business overall. Collaborating to reduce these impacts could benefit all parties. Could we establish a collaborative platform for discussion, explore joint cost-saving measures (such as negotiating with freight partners), and consider financing solutions like extended payment programs? There’s so much we could accomplish by working together. A proactive, united approach that combines cost-cutting, lobbying, and strategic marketing could significantly mitigate the effect of tariffs on French wine imports to the U.S. By joining forces across the supply chain—from winemakers to transporters to importers 🚚 —we could better protect U.S. consumers while supporting French wine producers. These steps can help create a stronger, more resilient system to withstand the pressures of new tariffs. 💰 #tariffs #frenchwines #solution #discussion #proactive #collaboration

We are in complete agreement when Bettane and Desseauve write of Marie Elodie: "Almost twenty years now that Marie-Élodie has been taking care of this area which bears her name (MEZ are her initials). From its first vintage in 2006, it has invariably retained its attention to detail, a pronounced taste for the vinification of its Gamays using whole harvests and the constantly reaffirmed desire to offer wines respectful of their origin, now in finesse and purity. With three high-class wines presented in recent years (Château Gaillard in Morgon, La Dot and Mademoiselle M. in Fleurie), she is increasingly establishing herself as one of the great winegrowers of Beaujolais and our country." The harvest is almost over, it is time for cap punching... Listen to the lovely noise of the indigene yeasts. ☎️ If you would like to know more about our wines, buy or distribute them, contact me at jp@bbrimports.com I am Jean-Philippe Guy, owner of BBR Imports in Houston, Texas. @clos_de_mez #fermentationalcoolique #mes_petites_levures #organicwine #vintage2024 #Fleurie #RhoneAlpes #Beaujolais #Harvest2024 #WomanWineMaker #Gamay #bettanedesseauve #france #closdemez #wine #beaujolais #vin #redwine #whitewine #winetasting #instawine #instagood #foodandwine #FrenchCountryWines #FrenchWinesInTexas

🍇 Our winemakers are superstars! This time it is Domaine Wunsch et Mann in Alsace! 🎉 Great article from Pascal KIEFFER and Vineonews ! In the Alsatian wine landscape, Domaine Wunsch & Mann has established itself as a key player. Founded in 1948 by Joseph Mann and Joseph Wunsch, this family estate today extends over 17 hectares around Wettolsheim. During the harvest, brothers Maxime and Thierry, representatives of the fourth generation, opened the doors 🚪 to their world to us, sharing their vision, their challenges and their attachment to organic farming. A family heritage and sustainable management Domaine Wunsch & Mann perfectly illustrates the evolution of a family winery, capable of adapting to current challenges. Extending over 17 hectares of vines, mainly in Wettolsheim, this estate is distinguished by its local roots. A key element of the estate’s management is its commitment to organic farming. Since 2008, the estate has been certified organic, after a transition that began more than 15 years ago. Maxime explains that this choice arose naturally, in response to environmental awareness and the desire to produce healthier wines, both for consumers and for the soil. Respect for nature is at the heart of their approach, including practices such as the use of herbal teas to care for the vines and working according to lunar cycles 🌕 . 2024 vintage, between vigilance and hope The 2024 harvest loomed large with many uncertainties. “It’s a vintage that could scare us,” confides Thierry. The memory of the year 2021, marked by a difficult climate with lots of rain 🌧 and cool temperatures, is still present. However, winegrowers have learned lessons and anticipated climatic challenges. “We were more vigilant this year,” he adds. The first signs are encouraging: “The harvest is generous and the yields are there,” rejoices Maxime. The acidity and maturity are well balanced, promising an aromatic and fresh vintage, typical of great Alsatian wines. The impact of organic on the quality of wines. 🍷 The adoption of organic farming has transformed the quality of the estate's wines, although the effects are not immediate. “We didn’t see the difference right away,” explains Maxime. The first years were marked by a drop in yield, because tillage stressed the vines. But over time, the vines developed deeper roots, resulting in wines with more salinity and increased drinkability. A promising future Beyond the harvest, the estate is a lively place, marked by meetings and a passion for wine. Maxime and Thierry, with their contemporary vision and their sensitivity to environmental challenges, embody a new generation of Alsatian winegrowers determined to preserve and enrich the family heritage. #Alsace #Alsacerocks #harvest #harvest2024 #wine #whitewine #chasselas #riesling #gewurztraminer #pinotgris #muscat #cremant #pinotnoir #grandcruhengst #familyowned #bio #organic #wettolsheim #frenchwineintexas #winestorenearme #frenchcountrywines

- Sebastien Ruffet 🎉 A new baby for the famille Ruhlmann - Schutz: The Crémant Solera This wine is remarkably balanced. The bubble is very fine, it brings this little sparkling touch, but without distorting the blend (Riesling, Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris)which is at the base. The flavors are there, and without racking your brains to look for what they remind you of, you can just enjoy this crémant on a special occasion, at any time of the meal, because it goes wonderfully with fish, brioche, and even vanilla ice cream. As Serge Dubs said in an aside: "Before, good crémants were worth bad champagnes, today, good crémants are worth good champagnes." - Sebastien Ruffet ☎️ If you would like to know more about our wines, buy or distribute them, contact me at geny@bbrimports.com I am Genevieve Guy, co-owner of BBR Imports in Houston, Texas. It has been a challenging year for winemakers all over France 🇫🇷 . In Jura, heavy rains 🌧 and a late frost in April have taken their toll, making the growing season particularly difficult.
