"Child care providers who operate on negligible margins often go hungry, face housing instability, are overloaded with debt and are fighting to stay afloat," says Natalie Renew, Executive Director at Home Grown. "If we want to maintain supply and meet families’ needs, then timely payments need to be a part of a toolkit of supports to the field.” At Beam, we believe those who care for our children deserve stability and support. That’s why we’re proud to support the Thriving Providers Project, to help them deliver timely and secure $500 monthly guaranteed income payments to home-based child care providers—helping them focus on what matters most: the children and families they serve. Beam, formerly Edquity reposted this
Absolutely thrilled to share that Beam, formerly Edquity, just released our 2024 Impact Report this week, highlighting the progress we’ve made in building America’s digital infrastructure to power resilient and just communities. As a first-generation, pell-grant recipient college graduate with first hand experience with this country’s social safety net, this work is deeply personal to me. From early internships at my local Community Action Partnership to growing in my professional career serving communities and individuals at their most vulnerable moments, the opportunity to work alongside governments, nonprofits, foundations, and academic institutions to modernize access to cash assistance and safety net programs has been a dream come true. When I joined Beam nearly 5 years ago, I was immediately inspired by the mission and the potential impact we could have. At the time, Beam was celebrating disbursing $120,000 in emergency aid. Now, 5 years and $360M+ in disbursements later, I am blown away by what we have accomplished and feel honored to wake up and continue this work every day. And that’s why I’m overjoyed to step into an expanded role with Beam as the Chief People & Impact Officer, leading both our internal people strategy and the overall impact of our programs and mission. This work has never been more critical, and I can’t wait to continue to share our impact over time. Check out our 2024 Impact Report and reach out if you want to join us in making a difference! https://lnkd.in/ehT3hD2e

Beam, formerly Edquity reposted this
Last year, Beam, formerly Edquity celebrated our 8th year, and it was undoubtedly our best year yet. In 2024, we grew to support programs across 39 states on behalf of 120 partners and distributed more than 100,000 unique payments, bringing Beam’s total up to $350M distributed. I’m thrilled for Beam to release our 2024 impact report, which summarizes our efforts and the amazing ways we continued to grow and execute our mission of building America’s digital infrastructure to power resilient and just communities. More importantly, there’s never been a more meaningful time to do the work, and as we continue to steward areas that include rental assistance, child care, various human services programs, postsecondary and workforce development, disaster relief, and more, we're as motivated as ever for what’s ahead of us in 2025 and how we can continue to drive meaningful outcomes for communities across the country. As we move fast along this path, we're also hiring, so if you'd like to roll up your sleeves with us on this journey, please reach out.
