At BETA, we’re proud of our projects that improve the communities where we live and work – both through environmental cleanup and the creation of public spaces. Our team members worked with The Worcester Business Development Corporation's Brownfields Development team to assist with the assessment and remediation of the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Rink, which was formerly an industrial manufacturing complex. BETA’s environmental scientists oversaw the building demolition, soil excavation and disposal, underground storage tank removal, and post-demolition environmental monitoring. https://lnkd.in/eF9Rm56h Looking for a family fun activity this weekend in Central Massachusetts? The Worcester Ice Rink will be open for public skating Saturday afternoon! https://lnkd.in/ea8HhAPf

Earlier in December, our Senior Project Manager Jason Ouimet moderated a panel discussion about innovative solutions to create safer, more vibrant streets for all at the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities Convention. Jason spoke with representatives from our client community, the Town of East Hartford, CT, as well as folks from the Connecticut Department of Transportation about our dynamic collaboration and how we are addressing traffic safety challenges by integrating roundabouts to reinvent the Town’s street network. Reach out today to learn more about making your streets safer in 2025.

‘Tis the season to optimize your plow routes! BETA’s GIS team has helped several communities navigate their way through the difficult but crucial chore of keeping roads safe for travelers. Our Route Optimization Program begins with identifying your goals and gathering information on the current state of operations, then creating maps and summary reports that save you time and money. We are once again blown away by the generosity of our employee-owners. This holiday season, we were able to fulfill the wishes of one large, extended family in our local community through The Salvation Army’s Adopt-a-Family program. A huge thanks to BETA’s Employee Engagement Committee, our Young Professionals Committee, and our staff for helping to make this holiday season special for several children this year.

BETA’s licensed drone photographers recently captured this shot of the Route 5 (Greenwich Avenue) Bridge over the Pawtuxet River, connecting Cranston and Warwick, RI. Originally built in 1960, BETA was hired to perform a comprehensive rehabilitation to address advanced deterioration on this two-span steel girder bridge. Our team designed a phased construction plan, maintaining traffic flow while prioritizing efficiency and safety. The project features innovative solutions like prefabricated bridge units and an ultra-high-performance concrete link slab, expediting construction and enhancing durability. The existing substructure was retrofitted and refaced, including a galvanic encapsulation system to extend its lifespan. Learn more about the project here: https://lnkd.in/eKKNHmvk
