The BeWell Competence Matrices - Building the future of digital health education 🚀 In the fast-evolving #digitalhealth landscape, ensuring that #healthcareprofessionals acquire the right skills is more important than ever. That’s why the #BeWellEU project is developing competence matrices to structure learning outcomes and align them with European frameworks like #EQF and #ECVET. 🔹 What is a competence matrix? A structured way to define knowledge, skills, and competences, helping both learners and educators understand expected outcomes. 🔹 How was it developed? BeWell took a bottom-up approach, using DigComp 2.2 as a foundation to define learning outcomes. These were organized into units such as: ✅ Information & #DataLiteracy ✅ Digital Teamwork & Communication ✅ Digital Tools, Content Creation & Copyright ✅ Safety & #Cybersecurity ✅ Digital Problem-Solving 🔹 Why does this matter? This matrix is more than just a framework—it’s a tool for curriculum development, training programs, assessment, and recognition of prior learning. 🆕 PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT 🚀 We are glad to work on a critical yet often overlooked challenge: severe urinary incontinence (UI) in elderly women. 👵🏾👩🦳 UI affects 55–60 million Europeans, yet it remains a stigmatised issue. In 2023 alone, its economic burden in Europe was nearly €70 billion, and without action, costs will rise by 25% in the coming years due to an ageing population. Beyond the numbers, UI deeply impacts the quality of life, work, sexuality, and emotional wellbeing, and creates a major ecological burden through the widespread use of incontinence pads. ALLIAX is a European Alliance dedicated to improving UI management in nursing homes. By bringing together health professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders, we aim to improve patient care, ease economic strain, and reduce environmental impact.
