Two weeks ago I shared that Canadian's were making far fewer searches for short term rentals in the US after the tariff announcements. It turns out that search data is a GREAT predictor of bookings trends and also that Canadians are keeping true to their word, making drastically less reservations in the US than years prior. Historically, Canadians made over 20% of total international bookings into the US (the US domestic traveler market is still much larger), but that has dropped to just 5% YTD! New York, Texas, Florida, Oregon and Washington States are the states most effect by trend developing trend. It will be interesting to see if they are still traveling and if so where they end up.
