About us
We find transformational leaders and supercharge their vision by becoming their eyes, hands, and feet in the execution of world-class, transformation strategy. We don't just design great strategy, we roll up our sleeves and do the real work. That often means taking on the uncomfortable conversations other consulting firms are too scared (or inexperienced) to have. Three things to know about us: 1. Over the past 25 years our staff members have led some of the largest, most complex implementations in higher education. We have experience working with every major higher education software solution on the market today, and have insider-level insight regarding their capabilities and weaknesses. 2. We believe that you cannot have a true technology transformation without the accompanying people and process change. 3. Once you engage us for a body of work, we commit to the outcome and stay on the job until it’s done, period. Along with our core consulting practice, we're involved in ongoing research and development in areas like entrepreneurial mindset, technology transformation, and the future of work. We have a sister brand - IntelliCampus, that is developing next-generation technology for higher education. Finally, and most importantly, we invest a significant amount of time and resource educating the market about the future through our BHive efforts that include virtual and in-person experiences. Beyond Academics reposted this
So, it’s Go Time! Are you ready for the LinkedIn post, or are you ready to show your campus what your multi-million-dollar spend was actually for? Many campuses can’t articulate what they achieved with the money they invested. Instead, they spin the message, claiming the value will come after go-live stabilization. But will it? In reality, you’re likely about to spend millions more to stabilize and validate a system you’ve been working on for at least two years, only to hear that it "just needs a little more time." Question: Where did the money go? While go-live may seem like the final goal post, most implementation teams create a “next phase” mantra when they realize they can’t achieve everything initially promised. However, this “next phase” rarely materializes because simply stabilizing after go-live becomes too time-consuming and resource-intensive. This is the core issue with today’s implementations. Everyone wants to boast about the software selection, but no one talks about the actual transformation that will happen —the outcomes your campus was supposed to benefit from. Some will claim they’ve done campus pre-work, but let’s be honest—none of that truly prepares your campus for the transformation they desire. They may even label it as “Readiness,” but it’s not. It’s just part of the implementation setup, not the groundwork for real transformation. So if a student implementation is in front of you, do you know where your millions will go? Really, do you? You won’t unless you prioritize Pre-Transformation Work before even selecting a software solution. This is exactly what we help our clients avoid—wasting millions by skipping the critical pre-pre-work (Pre-Transformation) needed for meaningful, lasting change. Feel free to reach out if you need to realign your campus transformation to ensure a clear understanding of where your money is going and, more importantly, how to measure tangible outcomes. They explore the reasons why these conversations are often avoided, the impact of fear on decision-making, and the importance of leadership in guiding teams through necessary changes. Let’s make 2025 the Year of the Student—but first, let’s set the stage in 2024. The HEUG and Beyond Academics will run this ThinkSpace to flush out the themes of a Student Centric Campus. Imagine a truly student-centric campus: one where every decision, every process, and every experience is designed with students’ needs, aspirations, and growth at the heart. In this transformative ThinkSpace, we’ll reimagine what higher education can be when we shift the focus from institutional convenience to student-centered innovation. For too long, campuses have prioritized policies and systems that worked for the institution. But today’s learners demand more. They expect experiences as seamless and intuitive as what they encounter in their daily lives—and campuses must rise to meet the challenge. How do we lead the way in a student-centric ecosystem? How do we rethink and redesign the campus experience to truly compete and thrive? Join us in this exciting conversation as we collaborate to design the campus of tomorrow. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this movement! Higher Education User Group Beyond Academics Gabrielle Kristofich Matt Alex
