To change careers I needed to learn new skills, be uncomfortable in new rooms, remind myself that I belonged, and invest in knowing myself. 1. I invested time to understand my strengths and weaknesses - coaching was invaluable here 2. I focused on building a team where we complement each other's strengths and weaknesses 3. I kept showing up because that is one thing we can all do and control 4. I have been vulnerable and learned that it’s respected and not something to be ashamed of 5. I have forgiven myself for not being better yesterday but working on how I can show up today 6. I have put my health at the top of my priorities (mind, body, emotional) 7. I have been kinder than I was before because it feels good, it helps others, and it helps set an example for the people who are watching 8. I can be better but it’s not being hard on myself, it’s motivating me to learn more today I’m hungry to win- or another way to say it I’m hungry to choose happiness and fulfillment, and that takes work. If you have ways that have helped you win, please share, and have a great week!

When you have a problem in business, you ask for help. I called my buddy Aaron Boggs and within 2 weeks, we solved a problem so we could execute on a great opportunity. He’s got an incredible company and culture that takes experienced executives with continuous learning and engagement… so we plugged an executive into Beyond Physician. More news to come… I’ve used flexible executives in a few companies and from a CFO to now a CEO role, there can be a mutual win at many stages of a company. If you are a healthcare company that may want to learn more, I’m happy to schedule a call and speak about this strategy and my experience with Infinite CXO. Let’s keep moving forward!

I’m doing a panel this Thursday at Columbus AI Week but I’ll share what I’ll be speaking about with regards to funding AI startups. -The team and the level of moldability and humility present matters. -The problem you are solving matters. -Customer validation and traction matters. -How will people utilize it and how will that process scale? -How it will help people and society (that’s important to ME) It sounds a bit generic but hard work never goes out of style 😀 A few people said “Navin I don’t see you show up to these events. What brings you here?” I said first it’s because of Summer Crenshaw - whatever she does is high quality and I want to be supportive. Second - we need good people shaping the AI industry and I hope I can contribute. Below is a pic of us as well at Monica Turner and Christi Brown- nice to meet you both!

The effort for my physical health has improved my mental health. I started tracking my daily steps this year and it’s significantly shifted the way I work and live. 🗣️ What we measure we can improve. What was probably 3-4k steps is now 12-15k steps a day. But check this out… I am walking in nature more, I’m seeing more people out and about, and I feel accomplished and proud as I am moving. Walking has opened up my world to good physical and mental health. When we say invest in yourself, it can be something we pay attention to and be accountable for. What have you been measuring?

There were times I would study 10-12 hours a day in medical school. I had something to study and work for. I learned the hard way in entrepreneurship because in building a company there aren’t books to study and guidelines to follow. It’s a different kind of skill and mentality to learn and grow. This is why I emphasize: ▪️Mentorship ▪️Daily learning ▪️Feedback ▪️Consistency These are the pillars that give us a real shot at success in building something meaningful. Is success guaranteed? No. But growth and the ability to apply these lessons to our lives? Absolutely. This is why I share these insights on LinkedIn because they’re relevant to all of us. (Lunch note below to my daughter as I’m trying to pass on some experience)

We don’t have to go with the flow. Our culture sets us up to eat unhealthy, sit for long periods, and work longer than we should while sacrificing health along the way. I see it in schools, hospitals, offices, and pretty much anywhere. So we have to intentionally go against this setup to: -sleep more -be focused when working to optimize time -be outside more -eat with awareness and plan our meals -walk more -be together more -give more -not shame each other for doing the above We can do this for ourselves because we deserve it… we also have people watching our actions and it’s a great way to influence each other. Here’s to redefining our culture and expectations, putting health at the center.

  • Thanks, Lara Hochman, MD for highlighting that despite years of education, training, and dedication, many doctors struggle to make ends meet… Below are some reasons.

The Truth About Doctor Salaries: Separating Fact from Fiction When people think of doctors, they often assume a life of luxury and wealth. But the reality is far from it. Despite years of education, training, and dedication, many doctors struggle to make ends meet. Here are a few reasons why doctors don't make as much money as people think: 💰 Medical School Debt: The average medical student graduates with over $200,000 in debt (often >$500k), accruing interest for years before earning a real salary. 💰 Opportunity Cost: Entry into the workforce in their 30s means lost years of potential earnings, investments, and retirement savings. 💰 Residency Years: 3-7 years of residency training, often earning less than $50,000 per year while working 80 hour weeks. 💰 Long Hours: Countless unpaid hours spent working after hours, including: - Charting and paperwork - Continuing education - Administrative tasks 💰 Time spent worrying about patient care and liability 💰 Emotional Toll: The weight of: - Patient complaints and criticism - Fear of making mistakes or being sued - Compassion fatigue and burnout - Emotional strain on personal relationships 💰 Malpractice Insurance: Thousands of dollars per year in liability insurance premiums, a constant reminder of the risks and fears. 💰 Reimbursement Rates: Decreasing insurance reimbursement rates, making it harder to sustain a practice. Let's set the record straight: being a doctor is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It's a calling that requires sacrifice, dedication, and a passion for helping others. I wouldn't trade my profession for the world. But let's be sure to know the facts before vilifying doctors unneccessarily. #doctorsalaries #medicaldebt #healthcareeconomics #faircompensation #physicianwellbeing

We’re living longer. But are we living better? The World Health Organization indicates that the global population is aging with projections that by 2030, almost 20% of the world’s population will be over 60 years old. Lifespan does not equate to healthspan, however. Research by Deloitte indicates that American adults currently live 60-80% of their lives in good health with significant disparity by gender, socioeconomic status, and race/ethnicity and these health gaps widen disproportionately as the population ages. Where can innovation lengthen and improve equity in health span:? ⏱ Personalized tooling (such as wearables and services) enabling lifestyle modification 🧠 Early and targeted screening and intervention mental health disorders 💰 Improving access and efficacy of services that target social determinants of health (financial stability, stable access to nutrition, health and financial literacy) 🏥 Personalized care coordination, improving care efficacy ⚕ Well-care enablement with tooling and services that enable initiatives such as at-home care and evidence-based preventative services 💻 AI and predictive analytics to better target monitoring, diagnostics, and intervention Integrated systems-based approaches can enable double-digit percentage improvements in health span. Let’s get there together! #venturecapital #aging #healthcare Sailesh Chutani Connie Collingsworth Sanskriti Thakur
