Hi, I’m the Bhatt International Social Media Intern, the second least important role in the organization, right above the guy who determines which metals we can't buy. He never has any work. This year I celebrated Diwali in India (company paid for travel of course). During that, I learned a few lessons, all of which are translatable to our business. Naturally, “Six Things Spending Diwali In India Taught Me About Running A Metal Recycling Business” all but posts itself on LinkedIn. 1.      Food, fireworks, lights, and so on have all been a sensory treat. However, the heart of the celebration have hands down been the relationships. This reminded me of the most important thing we have in our business as well, relationships. 2.      They say money can’t buy happiness. However, there has been two times I have been unsure about that: when we bought the flowerpot firework, and this one: https://lnkd.in/dz7y23gj 3.      I saw many hot-blooded youths taking firecrackers and lighting the fuse in their hand, only to release it just in time before it explodes with a loud sound, drowning out Darwin’s soft, tortured, whispers. Kind of like what Americans are going to be doing with their ballots on Tuesday. This reminded me that in business, it is important to always do your due diligence, or else you will get your hands burnt. 3a. Also that don’t do this. It’s taken a very long time for me to type this post with one hand. 5.      I read the word aluminum spelled as aluminium. This reminded me that it is ok to make mistakes, but never be so wrong. https://lnkd.in/dnwVkgua 6.      I learned that next time I do a Diwali post, just leave it as wishing a Happy Diwali and Prosperous New Year.
