Collegiate Esports is a rapidly growing industry and is increasingly becoming more of a business. That is why it is necessary to ensure the recruiting process is being handled properly as many factors are at play in this field. It is important to realize and emphasize the qualities that are appreciated when it comes to recruiting in esports. In terms of marketing, we cannot build a foundation of knowledge whilst also being aware the industry is always changing; which is why staying with the trend is the best way to display our professionalism in the matter. In this article written by Jill Murray, Erica Barone-Price, and Stephanie Decker, the mission value of collegiate esports is the vocal point. The authors wanted to define the opportunity that esports has given many students around the world, by focusing on important topics such as the Inclusion of students with a diversity of interests. As well as, giving equity to students who may not have the same opportunity at other institutions, how to leverage that as a school, taking advantage of this surging industry by simply participating in it, building a curriculum around esports that promotes recruitment, retention, and engagement from potential and current students.
