In a city where the median rent soars to over $2,000, an alarming 90% of our clients face severe rent burden. This isn't just a statistic—it's a daily struggle for thousands of families. But we're not standing idle. Our dedicated team is on the front lines: • Providing multilingual housing counseling in Spanish, Arabic, & Tagalog • Hosting community workshops about housing & tenants’ rights for 200+ families • Guiding 700+ families through affordable housing options & emergency rental assistance applications Our approach is holistic, addressing not just the financial aspects but also the language and technological barriers that often exacerbate housing inequalities. This #GivingSeason, we invite you to join our mission. Your support can be the difference between displacement and a stable home for a family in need. Every contribution, no matter the size, fuels our fight against the housing crisis. Visit https://lnkd.in/gt6JzMf3 to make a difference today. A huge shoutout to SF Urban Film Fest, People Power Media, and the whole crew of "Sa Amin: Our Place", a film that dives into the often untold story of Filipino-Americans in #SanFrancisco's South of Market. Through interviews and historical footage of SoMa, this film explores the struggle of Fil-Am's to keep their culture & families secured -- all while urban renewal, speculative real estate, and gentrification left their neighbors displaced. As a Fil-Am led non-profit in SoMa, we're honored to see our community's stories be told through this impactful film, and we encourage others to learn about the fight for our culture's legacy. Follow @SaAminFilm on social media, and visit www.SaAminFilm.com to learn more about future screenings!

Empowering Communities Through Housing Education 🏠📚 This year, we reached 259 households through our in-person workshops, including specialized sessions for Arabic-speaking residents and elderly Filipino households. Our partnerships with local organizations like South of Market Child Care, Inc. Southeast Asian Development Center, and Self-Help for the Elderly have been instrumental in extending our reach. Your support makes these crucial workshops possible. This #GivingTuesday, help us continue our mission of increasing access to affordable housing and defending tenants' rights. Every contribution counts towards building a more equitable San Francisco. Donate at https://lnkd.in/gt6JzMf3 #HousingJustice #CommunityEmpowerment #SanFrancisco #AffordableHousing

As the ONLY Arabic-speaking housing non-profit in San Francisco, we're proud to have assisted over 150 Arabic-speaking households just this year. Our commitment to language access is more than just a service—it's about ensuring housing rights for all, regardless of the language they speak. As Mousa, one of our clients, puts it: "Thank you, BiSHoP – or should I say – Thank you, Family." This #GivingSeason, join our mission to increase access and defend housing for diverse families in San Francisco: https://lnkd.in/gt6JzMf3 Together, we can make housing justice a reality for all. #LanguageAccess #HousingJustice #SanFrancisco #CommunitySupport #HousingIsHope

In 2024, we counseled 785 households across 29 neighborhoods, supporting families facing housing insecurity. While we're proud of this impact, the need continues to grow. With only 32 affordable rental units available per 100 extremely low- income households, our mission is more crucial than ever. This #GivingSeason, join us in expanding our reach to more families in need. Every contribution makes a difference in keeping San Francisco diverse and accessible. Donate to BiSHoP today, and help us spread our impact to even more people in San Francisco: https://lnkd.in/gt6JzMf3 #KeepSFDiverse #HousingForAll #BillSorroHousingProgram #HousingIsHope #SanFrancisco #Impact #GivingSeason #GivingTuesday #AffordableHousing

We are deeply concerned about a troubling piece of legislation currently under consideration in Congress: H.R. 9495. -- a bill posing a significant threat to nonprofit organizations across the country, including those dedicated to serving vulnerable communities. 📄 What is H.R. 9495? This legislation would grant the government sweeping authority to label any nonprofit as a "terrorist supporting organization." Once designated, nonprofits would have just 90 days to prove their innocence to avoid losing their tax-exempt status. This shift in the burden of proof is alarming and sets a dangerous precedent that could be exploited for political purposes. Who Could Be Affected❓ The potential impact of H.R. 9495 extends far beyond those directly involved in counter-terrorism efforts. From Reproductive Health organizations to Humanitarian Aid Charities, non-profits that represent at-risk populations can be flagged for their "anti-government" actions and sentiments. This poses a major risk to free speech and activism for people in need. 🗣️ Take Action Now! The House of Representatives is expected to vote on H.R. 9495 this Wednesday, and we need your voice to help protect our vital services. Here’s how you can take action: ✊ Oppose the Bill: Visit the IS Action Center at https://lnkd.in/eiNZxvy2 to oppose H.R. 9495. 📞 Call Your Representative: Urge them to vote NO on this bill. 📱 Engage on Social Media: Raise awareness and tag your representatives! While H.R. 9495 includes provisions aimed at providing tax relief for American hostages—a noble cause—this should not come at the expense of jeopardizing humanitarian operations and democratic values. At BiSHoP, we stand with our fellow nonprofits in opposing this bill and urge you to join us in advocating for justice, accountability, and the protection of our communities. Together, we can make our voices heard! 💪❤️ #ProtectNonprofits #HR9495 #NonprofitAdvocacy #FreeSpeech #CommunitySupport
