Poolbeg Tower, The Great South Wall - a few of us from Navan Camera Club headed to Poolbeg, Dublin, for a sunrise shoot. The sunrise didn’t happen, but the cloudy day provided the perfect conditions for a moody monochrome. I’ll be back to get that sunrise! I’ll have some prints (framed or mounted) of this, on sale at the Puca Festival, Trim, Meath - from 31st of October until 3rd of November.

“Mineral moon” - I’m busy preparing for the Puca festival, and here’s something I’ve been trying to capture for a while. last nights super moon provided the perfect conditions. The photo shows the colours of the moons surface, and is comprised of 40 different images, combined to give more detail and colour information. A bit of editing, and the colours come to life. Framed and mounted prints of this, and a lot more, will be available in my stall at the Púca Festival, Trim - 31st of October until the 3rd of November. #PucaFestival #pucafestivalireland #craftmarketsireland #canon90d #canon90d📸 #canon90d_shot #canon90dphoto #sigma150600 #sigma150600c #irelandsancienteast #tourismireland

What goes into making a photo? rarely the image that comes out of a camera is the final one - especially in landscape photography. Raw files contain all of the information (even if it doesn’t look like it at first!). The editing process extracts all of colours and details, and once you find the right balance, making the photo becomes allot easier!

My first photo of 2024 - the sun begins to set on the Sugarloaf Mountain, Co. Wicklow. I hoped to try something different, with a 180 degree panoramic photo of the scene. The light was a bit challenging, but luckily the sun dipped behind the clouds for a few seconds. The shot is comprised of about 15 different photos, and the level of detail in the full shot is stunning!

Some time ago Boyne View House approached me with a view to getting some promotional material created. Over the course of a few months, I had the privilege of taking hundreds of photos of their lovely cottages, lodges and grounds. Deirdre and Anthony always have the place looking amazing!
