About us
At binderholz, 100 % of the renewable raw material wood are utilised. From the cultivation of seedlings and forest management to timber harvesting, processing in the sawmills, products for the do-it-yourself sector, customised packaging solutions, the manufacture of solid wood products, innovative mass timber solutions and affordable housing, the entire value chain is consistently implemented. Waste wood from production is processed into densified biofuels, green electricity, pressboard pallets and pressed pallet blocks. In the timber industry, the name Binder is associated with a sense of tradition and integrity, combined with modern technology and innovation. From humble beginnings as a small sawmill more than 70 years ago, the family-run binderholz has grown into a fully integrated group of companies that utilises state-of-the-art technology and manufacturing methods. 𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮’𝘀 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴? At an elevation of 1,720m, Caruthers Chalet on Front Valley at Perisher Ski Resort is susceptible to some of Australia’s harshest weather conditions. Not only does a building here need to withstand temperatures between -14 and +30 degrees celsius throughout the year, we can actually only build between October and May, due to the project site being covered in snow during Australia’s winter season! The speed of construction achievable using cross laminated timber made this product an obvious choice for Caruthers Chalet. In this video, you can see the project at blockwork stage. The CLT is on its way from binderholz group in Austria! (with thanks to Mondiale VGL). Hear client Steven House’s first impressions of mass timber and how it has transformed his project so far.
