A few weeks ago, The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) had to evacuate its headquarters in Washington D.C. after someone found a suspicious package. After an investigation by the police department, the package was deemed safe, however, this caused not only a disruption to operations at the headquarters, but also forced local road closures. Our technology is designed to identify and mitigate these types of mail threats. Our mail screening capabilities give organizations the ability to scan letters, packages and parcels for both biological and chemical hazards, helping them gauge risk, keep people safe and maintain operations. #suspiciouspackage #mailscreening #biothreat #chembio

Recently, a marine corps veteran plead guilty to making ricin at his home in West Virginia out of "curiosity." While a federal investigation concluded he had no intent to harm others, this incident highlights how simple it is for threat actors to gain access to materials to create dangerous biological and chemical weapons. Exposure to ricin can be fatal, which is why our technology is able to detect and identify it quickly. Learn more about our technology and how it provides biothreat security at scale: https://lnkd.in/e3-vinMg #ricin #bioterror #biothreat #threatdetection #chembio

Earlier this week, the bomb squad was called in to investigate a suspicious package at the National Guard facility in Northeast El Paso. While the package was eventually determined to be safe, these threats are becoming more common and can cause significant disruptions to operations within critical infrastructure. BioFlyte technology is designed to identify and mitigate these threats. Our mail screening capabilities give organizations the ability to scan letters, packages and parcels for both biological and chemical hazards, helping them rapidly gauge risk and determine a plan of action. Implement biothreat security at scale with BioFlyte. #suspiciouspackage #mailthreat #threatdetection #chembio

The Washington Post recently published an opinion piece from a public health expert, former government official and biosecurity expert on how we could face a new wave of more powerful biothreats in the age of synthetic biology. At the conclusion of the piece they share, "By proactively investing in robust biosurveillance, attribution capabilities and rapid countermeasure development, Washington and its allies can safeguard the promise of the life sciences revolution and ensure that biotechnology remains a force for good, not a new frontier of global catastrophe." At BioFlyte, we agree with the push to prioritize biosurveillance technology and rapid countermeasure development. We believe that effective threat detection and prevention throughout the 21st century will require teamwork, technological advancement and vigilance. #biosurveillance #bioterrorism #biothreat #chemicalthreat

Earlier this month, hazmat crews were called to a downtown Milwaukee post office after the discovery of an envelope containing a suspicious powder. The local fire department's hazardous materials team tested the substance and within two hours, they concluded it was not dangerous. Even when these types of threats aren't found to be dangerous, they can still cause major disruptions. BioFlyte technology is designed to identify and mitigate these threats. Our mail screening capabilities give organizations the ability to scan letters, packages and parcels for both biological and chemical hazards, helping them rapidly gauge risk and determine a plan of action. "In the world of aviation security, attempting to mitigate new threats is often like creating a cure for a new disease. Usually, we only begin to find a solution once the problem has created enough havoc to illicit an equal reaction." John Halinski, Former Deputy Administrator/Deputy Assistant Secretary, Transportation Security Administration recently published an opinion piece on evolving aviation threats and preparedness for Homeland Security Today Magazine. An effective bio/chem defense involves more than being vigilant against the threats of today. It’s also about preparing for the threats of tomorrow. That’s why our BioTOF technology has the capability to identify multiple agents simultaneously and add new ones to its library within weeks, with unknown and emerging threats detected in real time. Election officials in counties across the U.S. have implemented a long list of security measures as a result of unprecedented threats they have received in recent years. David Gilbert for WIRED writes, "beyond checking that they have enough ballots and that machines are working properly, officials are now faced with having to monitor for threats and make sure they have done everything they can to protect themselves and their staff." On this election day, It’s vital to have the right personnel, technology and processes in place to handle these incidents as quickly as possible without compromising on safety. #electionsecurity #biothreats #chembio
