January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. While cervical cancer is most commonly diagnosed in women between the ages of 35 and 44, it can also develop later. About 20% of cervical cancer cases are found in women over the age of 65. Pap tests and HPV tests are best at helping to detect conditions that may lead to cancer. Additionally, the HPV vaccine can help prevent HPV infection, decreasing the risk of cervical cancer. There are also options for free or low-cost screenings from places like the CDC. #CervicalCancer #HPV #CancerScreening
