We’re excited to be growing our partnership with Blackbird Laboratories through a co-investment agreement to advance early-stage technologies and therapies being developed at University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). The initial project selected for the new co-investment partnership program is a potential oncology therapeutic founded on an emerging scientific discovery made in the research lab of Alexander Krupnick in the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Last week, we hosted our Innovation Summit, an incredible event showcasing groundbreaking pitches from Johns Hopkins researchers in therapeutics, diagnostics, devices, and software. It has been great to see Baltimore shine for the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy's 27th Annual Meeting! Our team was thrilled to help welcome over 7,000 brilliant scientists, physicians, and businesspeople from around the world to share insights about cutting-edge, lifesaving medical research. It was fantastic to see strong representation from the local research community, including our talented collaborator Professor Jonathan Ling. The field of gene and cell therapy is advancing rapidly, and we are proud to help move it forward by accelerating the efforts of innovative investigators. Kudos to the ASGCT conference organizing committee and the Baltimore Convention Center for putting on a wonderful meeting. The conference may be wrapping up on tomorrow, but attendees please note: the warm hospitality, delicious food, vibrant culture, and deep pool of scientific talent is here year-round! Thank you Royalty Pharma for a fantastic ABI-2024 conference. The programming was terrific, ranging from CARTs in autoimmune disease and targeting extra chromosomal DNA in cancer to reflections on the public biotech markets, US politics, and early stage translation. And the extracurricular activities in Cambridge UK were historic!
