Today we released Blackmagic Camera for Android 2.0, which adds support for remotely controlling and monitoring multiple phones at the same time. This means your Android phone can be set up as a controller so phones running Blackmagic Camera can be securely connected using a wired or wifi network. This lets you view all your cameras in a multi view, allowing you to monitor and control things like zoom, focus, white balance, frame rate, shutter angle or lens selection on an individual camera or adjust all connected cameras at the same time. It also enables you to synchronize all your cameras so they start and stop recording at the same time. This update also adds support for selected Android tablets including Xiaomi Pad 6 and Samsung Tab S9, as well as the new Samsung S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra phones. Now you can use these devices with Blackmagic Camera as either a camera or as a controller. When using the tablet as a controller the larger display makes it easier to monitor multiple cameras in either a multi view setup with up to nine cameras on screen at a time, or scroll through each individual camera. Blackmagic Camera for Android 2.0 adds the ability to click and drag with your finger to select multiple media clips on the media tab, making the selection of multiple clips to upload or delete much faster. In addition, this update adds support to capture up to 120 and 240 fps on supported Sony Xperia devices. This update also adds support for Tilta Nucleus USB devices for lens control, support for German in the user interface, as well as general performance and stability improvements. Today we released Ultimatte 2.2 update which adds support for 2110 IP video to Ultimatte 12 4K. That means you can now choose between SDI or 2110 IP for the foreground input, giving you a wider range of options for compositing, including footage from cameras with 2110 IP such as Blackmagic Studio Camera. Plus, because 2110 IP video over Ethernet is bidirectional, you can also send the program output over Ethernet. Ultimatte 2.2 update is available now as a free download from http://bmd.link/ecaRmq

Today we released Blackmagic Video Assist 3.18 update which adds support for Blackmagic RAW recording from Panasonic UB10 cameras to Video Assist 5” and 7” 12G HDR models. When recording Blackmagic RAW with Video Assist 12G HDR, you can also save the camera’s settings in metadata. This means the white balance and exposure are encoded into the file to be read by DaVinci Resolve, however you can also override these settings later in the RAW settings palette when color correcting. Today we released DaVinci Resolve 19.1.3 update which improves cache clearing when using the delete unused render cache tool. This means clips that include transitions or generator effects will all be correctly identified and not deleted in the process, saving you from having to recreate them after running the tool. This update also provides better support for previews of user generated Fusion effects, ensuring the text or graphics templates you create will be able to be previewed before applying them to the timeline, speeding up your effects workflow. When importing AAF files, clips will now show correctly synced audio and video, ensuring your footage is frame accurate before starting to edit. Los Angeles cinematographer William Hellmuth recently shot a camera test using a classic 1950s Bel Air car. Given the PYXIS 6K is now completely mountable, William’s idea was to test the balance of the PYXIS on gimbal, car-rig and handheld shots. “Given this is a classic car, we had to take it slowly getting to the location arriving around 2pm. When we got there the sky had a little bit of smoke haze from recent fires, which gave us perfectly diffused sunlight! It wasn’t until after 3pm that we finished the handheld shots and could then move on to the car-rig shots. Being late in the afternoon we needed to rig the car quickly before the light faded. I have never rigged a car this fast before, which is a credit to the Tilta Hydra’s electronic suction system and the form factor and balance of the PYXIS 6K. They were the perfect combo.” “I also chose Zeiss Contax lenses because they are vintage full frame and light-weight. Our PYXIS 6K has the L-mount, so I simply added an EF adapter with internal VNDs, which worked out great. My Nano follow focus system also works off an internal battery; but I didn’t need it as the PYXIS 6K has a USB-C port on the front which can be used for power. It’s those simple things that make the PYXIS 6K so quick to rig.” “I also wanted a bunch of ‘follow the car into the sunset’ shots, but sadly we couldn’t restart the Bel Air and had to get it towed! However, I did get to test the Ronin Pro gimbal with the PYXIS 6K the day before, which I gotta say was perfectly balanced.” Watch the video and read the full story at http://bmd.link/dhKyAh

Today we released a major update for HyperDeck Extreme models which includes new features as described below. For HyperDeck Extreme 4K HDR and HyperDeck Extreme 8K HDR you can now use the internal M.2 SSD as network storage. This means you can use the internal M.2 flash memory card as either a record cache or as network storage. When it's used as network storage, it can be accessed by all computers on your network via the rear 10G Ethernet port. In addition, this update lets you record 4 separate inputs on the HyperDeck Extreme 8K HDR model. Now you can use each of the 4 x 12G-SDI inputs for recording 4 separate video inputs at the same time, as long as they are the same video standard. The HyperDeck will automatically re-sync the inputs if they are out of time. Each input can record all SD, HD and Ultra HD video standards up to 2160p60. Each record channel will store the media files into a separate record folder to make managing media files easer. You can also swipe to set the metadata for each channel separately, such as the camera number. That's important when doing replay. With this update you get a complete replay solution if you record 4 channels into the internal M.2 media card and then connect to a DaVinci Resolve system for use as the media source. DaVinci Resolve will see the media recordings and can do live replays. You don't need an external network storage disk because HyperDeck Extreme 8K does it all in a one half rack width unit. Today we announced Blackmagic Camera 9.2 update which adds support for the Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor. This means you are able to use PYXIS Monitor with your Blackmagic PYXIS 6K with full touchscreen support and menu controls. In addition, this update adds support for remotely controlling Blackmagic PYXIS cameras using Blackmagic Camera for iOS. This means you are able to mount a Blackmagic PYXIS in a location that’s not easily accessible to monitor and control settings like focus, white balance, frame rate or shutter angle remotely using a phone or iPad. It also enables you to start and stop recording on a connected PYXIS camera and use it as part of a multi camera shoot! This update also changes the behavior of the lock switch on Blackmagic PYXIS cameras. When switched on, only the built in touchscreen will be locked, while the buttons below the screen and any attached external monitor, such as the Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor, will still able to be used. This limits accidental changes to settings or interruptions to streaming. Blackmagic Camera 9.2 also adds lens correction data for L-Mount lenses to Blackmagic RAW files recorded with Blackmagic PYXIS 6K cameras. There is also improved battery life on Blackmagic PYXIS 6K models for longer run times and improved tethering compatibility with iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro models. This update also adds improved gyro accuracy on Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 which allows for better shot stabilization in DaVinci Resolve.
