DEEPSEA MGZN / Divers Doing Good feature with Bleu World & Kayla Feairheller Our collective impact is greater 💙 “This past weekend, our team partnered with @scubabydesign to weigh, sort, count, and record the marine debris data from the 42nd Annual Avalon Harbor Cleanup and the results were incredible. “ “With 282 divers coming to the island to clean our ocean, we were able to remove 2,179 pieces of debris from the seafloor that weighed a grand total of 1,376.27 lbs!!” “We determined that 116 animals were directly impacted by these efforts, having been released unharmed from the debris that littered their home. While we can’t measure this, we know that by leaving the ocean cleaner on this day, many more animals have a chance at a healthier, happier, and longer life in the sea 🌊” “The impact of a collective effort like this one will be felt for generations to come. There is less debris in the ocean thanks to our divers. There is data that will help protect the ocean thanks to our volunteers. There is a community here that will inspire people everywhere to make a difference every single day.” Thank you to our organizers @catalinadiverssupply @catalina_hyperbaric_chamber Thank you to our volunteers @lmuoutdooradventurerec avaloninteractclub @oceanstories_podcast @pchscuba Thank you to our divers. & Thank you to @padiaware for amplifying our impact with the work you do for the ocean 🌎🌍🌏 ••• Photos by @____laurent_____

  • The year it all began! A letter from our Founder… Two years ago, I started Bleu World as a passion project to spread awareness for the plastic pollution problems facing our ocean. I wanted to live a simpler life with less impact and I hoped I could inspire others to do the same. I was on a mission to learn everything I could about the ocean in order to protect it and as I spent time studying and exploring the underwater world, I realized there was so much more we could be doing. So much more we need to be doing. But we need everyone. So, at the beginning of 2023, I assembled a team of ocean women and together we became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the state of California with a new mission: To build a network of ocean changemakers with a passion for conservation & exploration. I hope that our mission, our passion, and our team will continue to inspire. We are growing a community of scientists, conservationists, and divers here on Catalina Island and I’m so excited for you all to join us in the kelp forests this year. Our network begins with you. Thank you for your support. To everyone who brainstormed with me, encouraged me, or helped me over the past two years, thank you. Thank you to Jessy and Olivia for joining me on this awesome adventure and thank you to each and every one of you who has volunteered their time or donated their money. We would not be here if it weren’t for you. So here it is: Our 2023 Impact Report! If the past year’s achievements are any indication of where our organization is headed, this is just the beginning of kelp forest conservation on Catalina Island. Be sure to read the full report to learn more. Kayla Feairheller Jessy Shelton Olivia Hughes
