BL Harbert International, LLC began construction operations in 2000 under the leadership of Billy Harbert, Jr., carrying on a family tradition in the construction industry dating back to the 1940s. We are proud to be one of the construction industry’s very few family-owned companies with a worldwide portfolio of successfully completed projects. BL Harbert has two main operating groups, International and U.S. The U.S. Group is further divided into the following divisions: industrial, commercial, healthcare, and federal. The U.S. and International groups undertake preconstruction, general construction, construction management, and design-build services for private and public sectors. BL Harbert is ranked as one of the top contractors in the United States. Currently, we are consistently ranked as a top contractor in the country, according to ENR Magazine. Using our skills to make a difference! 🔨 Employees from eight different active projects on Tyndall Air Force Base came together to improve the campus of Anchorage Children's Home in Panama City, Florida. Our team constructed a new boardwalk, benefitting an area often used for classes and activities such as fishing and nature viewing. This group also rehabilitated an existing well and irrigation controller housing to provide a safe and functional structure. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮, 𝗠𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗰𝗼 On December 5, 2024, Ambassador Ken Salazar, Consul General Justen Thomas, and OBO's Managing Director for Planning and Real Estate Victoria Hartke formally dedicated the new U.S. Consulate General in Mérida, Yucatán. This milestone reflects the strength of the U.S.-Mexico partnership and underscores our commitment to fostering diplomacy, trade, tourism, and cultural exchange in the region. The $210 million project, completed over four years, generated significant economic impact, employing nearly 2,000 workers and contributing $85 million to the local economy. Designed with sustainability at its core, the facility has earned LEED® Silver certification, incorporating renewable energy, advanced efficiency measures, and environmental remediation efforts. Architecturally inspired by the Mayan heritage and cenotes of the Yucatán Peninsula, the new consulate features an exceptional art collection curated by the Office of Art in Embassies, including a site-specific installation by renowned artist Jorge Pardo. This consulate is one of ten diplomatic facilities across Mexico, representing the momentum of Mission Mexico and our commitment to a prosperous bilateral relationship.
