Making flexible work

About us

Blinktime makes hybrid and flexible working, work.   It is a calendar plug-in for coordinating where and when people are working which sits directly within Microsoft, Google and Slack, working seamlessly within employees’ day-to-day tools.   The ‘where’ helps people see who’s going into the office so they can plan their attendance to coordinate with colleagues and desk space.   The ‘when’ gives people guilt-free, pre-sanctioned flexitime within parameters set by the business.   There’s data for the company on all of it, which is not readily available on other platforms, and is an industry first as a holistic ‘flexible work’ tool. The tool itself provides employees with informal flexibility, pre-sanctioned by the company, which is invaluable in empowering staff to take breaks without feeling guilty. Bonus: it also provides a bunch of useful data that can be used in benefit design and business case preparation. Therefore proving a win-win with both employees and employers.

Is it time to swap the everyday stress… for something fresh? 🌱 And why on earth have I been sent a square of grass? Hint: watch the video 📹 👀 It's a reminder … a 'nudge' to step away, take a break, and reset...because even a short pause makes a BIG difference. 💡 That is exactly what Blinktime is about! It allows people to book time off without guilt or worry...while giving businesses insights into work patterns, so they can better support their teams! 🤝 Blinktime is a game changer for businesses! 🫡 30% of employees have reported an increase in grievances since 2022 (Blinktime), showing why inclusive solutions like this matter! 🙌 And when companies combine this with lived experience led insights and expertise, they take inclusion even further, because great systems and real cultural change go hand in hand! 💥 So Karl Ogden, thanks for the grass coaster and the reminder! 😎 🌱 Linkers of LinkedIn...when was the last time you swapped screen time for green time? 🪴 Check out Blinktime & Melanie Costas Consulting…as now is the time to GROW your inclusion! 🌱👀 Follow #Inclusify2025 for fresh, forward-thinking inclusi thoughts! #TheInclusifyer #Inclusion #Blinktime Video description for inclusion: I’m sitting at home, my pink hair is styled as usual, and I’m wearing a pink coat. I open a surprise package I got in the post in a white envelope. It's a square of astroturf grass as a fun novelty coaster, with the Blinktime logo on in white spray paint. I turn the grass slightly in my hands, making sure it’s visible, and read out the note enclosed with the coaster. I'm facing the camera, reinforcing the message about taking breaks and stepping away from work and thanking Karl for sending me it!

#TouchGrass Most of us have jobs that require us to spend a significant amount of time in front of a computer screen. For some it is even more. Maybe because you’re upskilling and job hunting like myself or because you’re in a position of leadership and you have to put in the extra work to make sure things run smoothly. Don’t forget to make the time to step back, shut the screen and mute your phone. Engage in an activity, something that’ll keep you away from a screen for a decent amount of time. I hadn’t done this since the year began, so I went out for a nice glass of apple juice and spent some time reflecting and away from my laptop or phone. This mug rug and campaign by Blinktime has reminded me to make out the time to decompress. Thank you for reminding me Karl Ogden and thank you to the Blinktime team! #TouchGrass

"If you're trying to get someone's home address the best way is to don a pair of spandex gloves and look menacingly at the camera" Karl Ogden, apparently. I love weird, I love start-ups and I love creative outreach (free stuff) so I'm pleased with my brand new, limited edition Blinktime grassy mug rug... Excited to see the growth over there and glad I didn't ask too many questions!

    Investor & Director @ Blinktime | Talk flexy to me… 😏

"Sitting is more dangerous than smoking, kills more people than HIV, and is more treacherous than parachuting. We are sitting ourselves to death." — Dr. James Levine, Mayo Clinic Alright, the wait is over, the secret’s out! 🚀 I teased you last week, but our latest Blinktime campaign "Touch Grass" is here, and so is the new merch! 🌱 This week, a few of our long standing supporters received their own grass coasters in the post, but why "Touch Grass"? Well, it’s a simple reminder to stand up, take a break (ideally outside in the fresh air/nature!), and move a little. Prolonged sitting is INSANELY BAD for your mental and physical health. Your desk? A silent killer. So, we asked ourselves "How can we give people a gentle nudge to get up and move?" And then it hit us! Next time you grab a brew, your little patch of grass will remind you that maybe it’s time to step outside and stretch those legs. Even better if you can book it in as Blinktime! I handmade every single coaster. Here’s a little behind-the-scenes video of the process! 🎥✨ Want your own little reminder to touch grass? Drop me a message with your address, and I’ll happily send one your way. 📬 Big shoutout to David Afolabi, who inspired me at Manchester Tech Festival with his lightning talk. When he told the room to touch grass, I knew I had to run with it! 👊🏼 #Wellness #MoveMore #WorkLifeBalance #Fitness #WorkplaceWellbeing

Why on earth have I posted a picture of a square of artificial turf? Well, it was sent to me by the folks at Blinktime, telling me of this saying... "touch grass!" It's a reminder to take a break, step outside, and reset...whether you work remotely, in the office, or a bit of both, even a short break away from your screen can work wonders. There is another saying I like..."happiness is just a biscuit away!" I think I need to recharge my cup! When you need a short break, what do you do to recharge? #FlexibleWorking

I posted this earlier but it had the most horrendously long and boring description about the importance of hybrid coordination. I bored myself so I deleted it 🤣 Hybrid coordination is DEAD IMPORTANT but I think the message is clear from the video. Everyone who works hybrid can relate to those car crash days where there's no coordination and it all goes Pete Tong. Anyway, I think I'll post more memes. That is all. #Hybrid #FlexibleWorking #FutureOfWork
